  1. I loaded this up with 3 people and all their stuff for a weekend and it didn't scrape too much. Only mishap was the exhaust coming off its hanger after some spirited gravel road driving.. I finally got around to putting some sound deadening/heat resistant stuff on the firewall and the stuff actually works. for the first time since owning the car I no longer get hot feet/legs when going for long drives. I chucked some in the boot and it has quietened the road noise a bit too.

Got a pic to show the bay with the wiretuck

  2. I fixed the not idling/ running like a bag of shit problem by tightening the intake manifold bolts.  I can actually shift into first/reverse now  that I have adjusted the linkages.

I cracked out the sand blaster and the drivers floor is pretty holey.

Also does anyone have a large sized compressor I can borrow? can have a 15/16A plug on it as our garage has them.

My favourite part is the rain instantly sterting to rust the metal

  3. I've had this (and many other hondas) for 7 years and been playing with it for most of that.  Its the intrac model so has (had) abs and rear lsd.

The orignal motor and clutch was toast so I chucked a sohc vtec in it. i've put 280mm mini rotors on the front with prelude calipers and its lowered on neuspeed race springs and koni shocks. I've taken the a/c and powersteering out. Currently it has a non vtec ssohc in it as the other motor is getting built at the moment.

  4. oh sweet! I doubt its fitted correctly as its fallen off again and is in the boot.

Yes it probably is, there are a few stickers floating around. I'll be bust this week getting ready for easter weekend so I'll crack on with it next weeek

  5. I haven't looked there yet, looks like the drivers a pillar is rusty.  iwas having a chat to the panel beater the other day when I dropped off the cst10 and he said it was a prick of a job to get them lined up right.

It was 'bare metalled' by the previous owner and painted (I believe at a tech or something) then parked outside under a tarp. I dont see any prep work under the bog against the bare metal so am not surprised at the rust coming through.

The sweet brazing looks goof after a stripper disc though

Recommendations on a semi perminant rust resistant sealer to put over the bare stuff for now. I'm using zink spray for now as it was free

  6. Less fucked door is on, and the rusty fucked tailgate is off. The door was bent and is missing all its rubber etc so I'll have to carefully strip the old door. The replacement tailgate is just a skin too so I'll need to figure out how the hinge mounting plates come off the old one. Oh and does anyone know where that spring thing mounts on the body? And the bracket that holds the sping in the tailgate went flying so hopefully I can find it tomorrow

  7. Got it outiside and pulled the nose cone off and started doing some grinding. it appears all the doors have been dipped in bog and the rest of the car has had a few layers slapped on.  No unexpected rust yet but It all needs to come off now. The more I grind off the more rust spots appear.

  8. Failed compliance on rust on under body etc, I thought it was surface and should of been ok. Took it to a panel beater neal recommended and I only need a patch under the battery tray 9which my mate fixed) and some waxy clear coat stuff on the surface rust in the a pillars. Bonus on both the bill side and I get to keep the 'patina' which is what all the cool kids like right?
