well ill find your mustang and park outside dont wanna be a lone ranger haha
-
so since we are doing something for this swap meet should i park my car inside this time? and what time roughly ?
-
that would be awesome, its just super expensive to find a b series motor, i would but motors are expensive asf, if it was a little cheaper id be keen
-
honda b series they make subframes in america for these, im just not wanting to spend 2g on a subframe
-
right lets have a poll of what people think rather then just crazy shit I try telling ma gf when she has no idea at all.
wanting to do an engine conversion on my Austin 1300, I'm going for twin cam goodness and around 110hp so it is driveable and not a hp pig, two options
option a is a specially built a series 1275 bored out to 1380 cc with a k100 head 8V from a bmw mated to the top, meaning fuel injection crossflow design, this also means no modification to the subframe, but a draw back of the original a series gearbox.
the second option is to go all out and drop a 4age 16v or maybe 20v fwd orientated, I know all the kids these days are dropping Honda motors in mini but that is not my style, I was thinking 4age for the fact its more modern then the a series has a raft of upgrades can have a rather classic look (kind off) cheaper gearboxs which have built in lsd from factory, 5 or 6 speed gearbox which the a series seriously lacks, I love the sound of 4age aswell and would be around the same weight as a original a series. downsides to this is fabrication of mounts and custom made driveshaft's was thinking Toyota engine side with Austin outer end? another bonus of the 4 age would be its easier to bomb another motor in rather then a specially built engine.
ill bomb so more photos of in car photos these photos are of course minis no one has deared to put effort into a Austin or botherd to record it so imagine more frontal room
if you have any other suggestion fire away or comment your thoughts

I think mine is the same runs sweet but no pressure hahaha

off topic going to car show today?

well this morning it was on about 55 psi oil pressure cold which means either the oil is to thin or its just a usual a series with no oil pressure
-
I agree but smiths are wayyy to expensive auto gauge do a chrome bezel might look at them
-
I'm thinking that, as its not pushing all the oil through the line atm maybe let it off at back of gauge then let it smizzle through then connect it? to much air vs oil?
Thanks everyone for your ideas I shall slay this who I mean medusa in the morning =P -

hahaha love it haha god dammit maybe we should all follow what mighty car mods are doing? how many youngins gonna go buy minis and start chopping them
-
yeah its a trisco gauge my escort one worked mint, don't understand why this one is not haha, and urm the gauge don't move it till I stab a few revs in
-
haven't seen any leaks of oil, could whip out some soapy water might do that tomorrow, yeah might go back to supershit ask them to try another one ill do that as a last resort
-
So my mechanical oil pressure gauge when the car is idling warm is at nada, when I rev the engine it picks up to around 20 or 30 odd then slowly drops back down on de acceleration, I'm using the standard pick up point is my motor shit or the gauge?
love to hear ya thoughts -
so tonight I decided ill have a beer after work and hack into the dash my surprise it was tin hahaha thought it was gonna be different, not sure if I'm gonna regret hacking into my dash but meh

so update, drove perfectly fine for a long drive to the beech, on the way back the motor shifted popped the driveshaft out and left its oily goodness over the side of the road.
so after a bit of inspection and a noticeable lean the the left and a very nice banging noise under acceleration i determined the gearbox side mount was buggerd alongside with front engine mount
so this is what i found the mount completely broken in half, this explains why my cv broke and why my exhaust keeps leaking so after a few hours pissing around and calling the car all the names under the sun i got the new mount in =D now to pop the driveshaft back in and should be good as gold.
maybe next time lift the whole engine out this job was a real cock
