im more then likely going to wing this one, have to spend some time with the battle axe, and have a few jobs going on =D thanks for the offer
-
I'm not sure if I can trust the austin to make it there and back my steering rack end bushes are pretty flogged steering might fall apart not really but will access it later on if I can make it
-
i saw a video of mustang vs mini over is oz shit I have to say the mini beat 99 percent of the mustangs out there and only 1 managed to stick with the mini only reason the mustang won was because the finish line was on a straight haha,
mid way through this year I'm chuking a Suzuki swift motor in the Austin I might readdress the need for a club car then maybe the Austin might fullfill its purpose of being a turd with a zuk motor -
if anyone around nelson knows of a storage shed i can use as a workshop i would be very much interested i am struggling to find something please somebody help me haha
-
i would but my other half would kill me if i brought another car home before i got a new shed, she told me shed first then i can buy more cars =D so quickly try and find a shed
-
ah right thanks for the advice =D ill keep searching something will pop up
-
yeah only reason I was thinking Austin as I picked up a legal shell on hold for 200 bucks with no motor, so for bugger all I could have it all running, man that allegro is nice big balls is something you gotta have, i know my Austin wont be setting records but would be a shit tonn of funn and cheap ish to fix just not a large aftermarket scene for them meaning everything is custom jobby except the engine, although i was looking at 323s, lasers, early mr2s hell i was even looking at a Honda civic.
that Toyota looks good mmm the rust is pretty bad ish seen worse I'm at top of the south =D would be a good wee car -
well it wont be running in modern class, was thinking about swapping a Suzuki swift into thing which would be a whole lot better, and the hydroelastics are fine if ou separate the corners, just don't want to go the miata route
-
not all about wining well yes yes it is but I don't have 100k to drop into a race car so wining is never gonna happen

well im not super rich so ill never be competitive racer or ever own a competitive car =P midpack car is my aim, just wondering how the austin 1300 handle with the extra weight and length
im to scared to push mine due to pending death if i do, other option was to buy a mini shell and race that
-
sabb 900 mcm spec, yeah im thinking about just running a beefy cam twin sus and some port and head work, stripping the austin out barebones, isolating the hydroelastic suspension so it cant shift, also choping some steel out maybe
-
Right starting this chat to see what everyone thinks would make a good club car doing a variety of events from grass to motorkana to rallys and sprint.
the obvious and most used choice is a starlet and escort, having a spare rolling austin 1300 but thinking its on the heavy side.
fire away =D -

right so I though I will post my dads house truck built this himself with the help of my granddad, has lived in this over 20 years, its a 1949 Bedford k buss chopped and re incarnated into a house. its driven multiple times out to the beech for Christmas or beech weekends, dad also tows a trailer behind loaded with a quadbike and camping gear, not bad going for a old 214 petrol, happy I scored dad some side lights for the mudguards and some more chrome to finish the grill. also note the number plate =D

i can vouch for Klein pliers and tools there ace, another good brand is channel lock, it takes a bit of use to loosen the pliers up
also good screwdrivers are either wiha or wera, being a electrician i use these on a daily basis,
i also have a tool pro set from super shit and i have abused it so much without failure good low end budget tools- 1

mmmm juicy have to say been finding some cheap honda engine and fwd boxes going atm i just think the 180 odd hp they put out is a bit scary for such a light car? maybe 4wd i have seen 4wd conversion kits for minis, maybe buy one and hack it to fit a austin?
-
in all seriousness im pretty certain on a suzuki engine im going to have to fabricate my own subframe (more modify an orginal)
thoughts on this? -
looks so similar to a a series would be a good swap old school ish motor and turbo =D honda city turbo motor btw
