  1. iv seen a r32 at pukie drift comp a couple of years ago, its flywheel was lighten and when it let go it went thow the fire wall, dash and bonnet etc! some of the fiywheel landed in the car park lol! that put me off lighting my one for sure!
  2. pretty sure its the rb20det 9 bolt flywheel man! but id have to check it to make sure before a buy one. the motor is a gts4 rb with mods to the rb20det sump to fit the oil pick up, but yeah got to make sure! the autoclutch been in there for around 4 years now i think, so just old and warn out thats all! plus got to fix the input shaft seals etc so just going to do the lot at the same time.

  4. yeah i hear you you man lol ill just keep saving my coins up! iv got an autoclutch in there at the mo its lasted a while i pay a bit for it,but diff had my fun with it! exedy sounds like the go, guess you get what you pay for
  5. hi guys iv got a a31 that iv been using on and of track for the last 6 years! its an rb20 with the same old same bolt ons etc the clutch has just started sliping when you dump it etc and feeling very old at the moment. what im asking is the cheap clutchs that you see on trademe for 400$ for a 5puk any good,or am i wasting my time and money and its best to keep with the well knowing ones for 600$ or so? i dont have alot of coin so if anybody has or used these cheap clutch's, tell me if you like or not? any info wood be wicked cheers chris

  7. paint striper doznt get the bog off (if there is any)so you might have to grind those area's! make sure you sand the paint with 40 grit first so that the paint striper eats in good! best to treat the metal once all the paint bog etc is off! then 2pak etch it! i restore cars az a job and found if you got bog in the panel that your taking back to bare metal, best to use a 8,10 inch grinder its faster and less mess, and just lightly grind it so you dont heat up the panel to much! this is my way and it works for me, but there are loads of other ways to go about it just what ever works for you, hope this helps dude!
  8. yeah i just put the old ones back in, saw a cef on trademe with tinted lights and purpize it had just got a new vtnz wof because it had tinted lights so yeah there it is,learn from other peoples ffff ups! cheers for the info guys,hope this tread will help others with this type of thing!
  9. the ve commys do its an opitons i think! i know the ae111 levin have pretty dark, but yeah! i asked the wof man at the garage up from work today interesting, said that it inpends on the person checking the car for a wof really, he said that as long as you can see them light up in the day time and can be see it souldnt be a problem. iv found over the years of mucking with cars that certs,wofs, and the cops have different rules for anything to do with mods! one thing could be sweet for a cert but not for a wof eg stetched tyres. you cant get a cert with them,but a wof you can, and cops can green sticker it for them! its anybodys guess lol!

  11. haha that wood of been a mess man! i just bugs me that you cant just make your car look different from the rest with out getting the fuzz all over you! iv spent alot of money certing the cage,motor,rims,coilovers so so on etc and a little thing like tinting your lights can get you into crap! im from west auckland az well lol!
  12. cheers guys! yeah iv got a high stop light on the car, i had to put on for a wof many moons ago. it says that they have to be red when there on or braking etc and to have a red reflecter somewhere on the rear. they light up red and there still bright. az much az they look kool, but probperly not wroth another green sticker. its the type of car that is allways get picked out buy the cops,i reckon id be sweet but you get that one cop that can end it all!
  13. hi guys iv got a a31 cefiro with tinted face lift tail lights, just wondering can i get green stickered for theres? im a car painter and i just tinted sum clear with black to make them dark, you can still see a bit of red in the light itsef, and in the dark they light up mint and bright still, but yeah have heard you can get stickered for them! cheers chris any help would be mint!
  14. i think i sus it out, the contacts in the fuse box for the fuse that melted had is been cleaned before the fuse itsef could make contact with power! so cleaned it with a little fine till it was clean,made sure there was power and so far so good! till dont have high beams yet but i had this problem before the melt down any ideas on that? trying to put a photo up of the my car dont know how to do it, but my car is the green cef on the old powercruze entry form lol!
  15. im in auckland dude lol! i was thinking of bypassing it lol! the fuse says radio witch is werd, doznt have one. the wire at the back of the fuse that melted is all hard and burnt along with the fuse contacts! fusable links ill have a look and see what i can find
  16. yeah it was the rear number plate lights that shorted to the body, i had to replace the rear tail loom and the relays in the engine bay, but yeah im stuck,it could be shorting out in the fuse box itsef it got pretty hot lol! theres no power to the fuse or the tail relay the the engine bay. i havnt got the fuse box lid az they get lost in time, bit il google it and see what it brings me cheers dude
  17. hi guys! iv got a 1988 a31 cefiro that has a burnt out fuse box under the dash! the car runs and drives fine, just the dash lights,rear tail lights,parks,high beams arent working! one fuse in that fuse box hads burnt and melted itsef and part of the fuse box! so what i want to know is if anyone knows if you can replace the fuse box buy un cliping it sum were in the loom on a a31, or can you cut all the wires off the back of the fuse box and reconect them to the new fuse box? or is it a bit more to it than that. any help will go a long way az im starting to pull my hair out! cheers chris
  18. yep thats the way man! i started on imported cars from japan that needed repair certs and yep you need one if its taged or not its the law! contact a certifier and talk to them its the best way dude, they will tell you how it is.
  19. you can do it ursef but you have to get a repair certifier to sign it off to say its safe and done probperly and his happy with it etc when you take it to compliance to get the car tested for revin etc you show them the repair cert that he has sgin. certifier will look at the car first and point out to you what you have to replace and what you can repair, they take photos for all the areas of repair azwell.
