  1. Strip down underway (donor in the background) The firewall/bulkhead was pure rust. My brother helped me take all the body off it. Many a skinned knuckle. So many rusted nuts and bolts. It was a tortuous process.
  2. Ok I've Sussed out the photos.. Here is what it was like when I first got it I then put on a ute cab roof.
  3. I just started a project thread: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/39845-donmcdazzles-69-landrovercruiser/ Cheers for the pointers in getting photos loaded up euron8
  4. Hi all, Here is my 1969 land rover series 2a. I bought it sight unseen (silly me) on trademe. It has 70 series toyota landcruiser engine, gearbox, axles, diffs and disc brakes so it goes a bit better than it would have out of the factory. It has been a bit of a slow process as the truck is in Otaki and I live in wellington but I've slowly got things done on it. The chassis and body needed some work so I accumulated a few body parts and have started to get the chassis sorted out. I bought another guys project as a donor for mine which had all the body parts I needed, and used some of the parts of his chassis too. 5. Sorry mate yep northern palms = palmy north. I saw Manawatu in your location so thought you might be in on that nickname haha.
  6. Hi mate, sweet ride alright. I've also been bitten by the land rover bug and have collected a fair few parts for them. I have one with a Holden red motor/transfer case like yours which I'm replacing the running gear from. So if you need a new engine I have that one which is tidy. I also have a few sets of leaves and all that. If you need any parts send me a message and ill see if I have it, body parts included. All my stuff is in the northern palms.
  7. Hi all, As title suggests I'm after someone to do some welding for me. I'm willing to pay in cash/booze/durries/whatever. I have a land rover series 2a which needs some welding done in the passenger footwell, and a couple of spots on the chassis. The truck is in Palmerston North, and it is mobile so I can bring it to someone if needed. Cheers.
  8. Nice one thanks mate. Glad to hear you're enjoying cruising it round, although very jealous (as mine is still under maintenance).
  9. Looking good mate, where did you get the new door tops from in the end?
  10. Cheers, I'll probably put a thread on here about it if I get round to taking any photos. Let me know how you get on with your local guys with the door tops, I could always get them courier'd from down there if they do decent prices and/or have good condition 2nd hand ones (hell of a lot cheaper than shipping from the UK).
  11. Yeah if you saw it on trademe it isn't quite as nice looking in real life haha plenty of little things that need tidying up. Mechanically it is pretty awesome though, it will be an animal when it is all sorted. It also has a landcruiser 5 speed gearbox so the ratios are fine for the open road. Where are you planning on getting door tops from nzstato? Can't seem to find anywhere in NZ that does them at a decent price. They're like 25 pounds new in the UK but I can't find them for less than $200 over here.
  12. Wicked mate, nice and tidy looking one you got there. I recently bought a series 2a myself although it isn't as tidy as yours. Mine has Landcruiser diffs in it (with a landcruiser 3.4lt TD engine), cruises at 100k fine.
