I asked the same idiot questions when I was deciding on what to buy (as cheaply as possible)
Straight argon isn't recommended for mig
http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/welding-gas.htm
Can change from argon to argon mix but not back (as now it won't be straight argon for Tig welding tho again you can Tig with argosheild but gets messy)
Could buy co2 cheap for mig welding?

Have a socket at work but they use it everyday so a bit tricky, would a spanner work as he have heaps of them they're open one end and multi hex other?

Yep, gone off the parts washer idea as I don't want something too large and can accept hydrocarbons without screwing it, seem to be heading more down the ultrasonic cleaner direction. Seems the heated ones work well.
Information seems to be conflicting with some sites rubbishing piezo transducers and others magnetostrictive ones. Need to do more research, thought of making one but, meh..
I saw this home made " ultrasonic cleaner" on a bike thread I lol'ed!
Pretty sure the wife would want to throttle me after having it run for a few mins!

Been doing some more bits and bobs, motors back in decided the gouge in the camshaft will be ok(hopefully-think it's actually seeping a tiny bit of oil so will prob speedy sleeve at some point)
Oil seal for mechincal fan is leaking-the only seal I didn't replace!
Decided to cut the rear off just need to find a welder to put new hoop on and weld the exhausts up
(Ex Harley de baffled ones hopefully not to loud)
Cleaned up the wheels and etch primed going to chuck some black paint Over them and front forks- currently stripped for new seals and oil maybe some more low to match the arse too
