Because this thing has lived under cover since 2012 the vinyl just came off intact in whole sheets.
It has some scabs for sure but it's not terrible I've fixed worse..... I've also left worse alone too it is just a trailer.
Started ripping the bulkhead out the box section is rusted away completely so 90% was done with a dust pan and brush, big stainless box to deal with next.

Was up in Auckland for work yesterday so spent an hour on it got tyres with air on the galvanised modgys. Cleaned the shit out of inside mostly. Hopefully will drag it home this weekend.
I'm going to have to wire up the tail lights before I leave because some mongrel stole the loom from it since I started looking at it about 6 months ago.
Alloy has some scabby areas so might spot sandblast those and just house paint it to a reasonable standard.

2 fresh tanks through now all the weird shit it was doing has not reappeared. Still has more crank end float then it should Meh! It drives so much nicer than the 2022 Mitsubishi ASX I daily for work and gets pretty close to same economy.
I never got a chance to enjoy the new stereo I put in its bloody epic now all the new speakers have started to free up and sound crisp.

When I had my PI Triumph 2.5 on dedicated lpg if it got low on gas would lean backfire into the plenum on the throttle body's and blow the inlet tract to pieces. 30 minutes to cool down then 30 minutes to reassemble the inlet side of system hoping nothing went AWOL during the explosion. Usually it would do it once or twice more on way to nearest gas station.
Eventually split the inlet plenum its entire length after a nasty lean cough left me stranded and I converted back to petrol.

It's setup with lpg bars solenoids etc for massive flame demo's could be exciting but think it's probably non functioning now from sitting so long I'm not game to play with it. BBQ could fit in ass where fire box is though I like that idea.

Just sold the old trailer and bought what im calling the drag challenge trailer...... it of course needs work hasn't moved for years and needs love.
Ex fire demo unit so has all kind of weird shit I'll pull out. Has gullwing doors so should be useful for loading shit into and storing bikes etc safely.
Has duratorque axles and is pretty beefy construction $500 cant go wrong apart from its 100ks away and has 2 flat tyres and some mongrel stole the tail light wiring.

All parts arrived today so smashed out last of wof stuff tonight in about an hour brake pads, radius bushes, nail in tyre and adjusted head lights.
Gave it a bit of a thrashing happy with how it goes now, got some service parts to throw in before drag day.
Online Autoparts came through with goods again used em a few times

Holden/Isuzu 2wd Ute's might be an available source for a gearbox here in nz.
I could be wrong though. Worth effort if it can go in easy and not a dog to get parts for.

Then just a nail to flick out of rear tyre and thats 3 off the list.
Oil weeping was a oil pressure switch that farted and shit the bed ages ago I just swapped it for one off my spare engine.
Headlight aim is 1 turn each with a Phillips head each currently aiming little higher as stock is shit light throw but wof guy insists it must be stock.

Punched through the cunt jobs on the list today hand brake and drivers seat free movement.
Both required removal of the drivers seat so was quite pleased to nail that in one hit, the electric seat motor had 2 plastic bushes that were various states of crumbs.
Tried online NLA doubt they were ever available seeing as ive got 28 days to sort it I elected for the weld the whole fucking assembly together option.
This will only bite me in ass if I ever have to dismantle the drive motors chances of that that are slim to none so no free movement and zero $ spent.
Now to wait on overnight parts from Brisbane that may take a bit of time.

Offset im after is not Common looks of things. Considering bmw x5 wheels width is right but offset is a little mexipoke spec and need to roll the guards no that keen on mods to bodywork. Will see what's out there.

You'd be better off getting spot welder and blasting a stack load more into your seams at least then if you stack it you can drill them out easily. If its a unibody car? If its something like a Toyota crown or an impala with a separate chassis its pointless.
You could get creative and urethane strengthening panels in no bolts no welds.

I've got these they're 19x8 the offset is perfect fit at moment in rear sits nice with rear guards heaps of room inboard to widen to 19x10 easily possibly 19x11.
They weren't too expensive so wouldn't be heartbroken chopping up, but suit the look im after of just a factory upgraded old man's daily and give me room for the brake upgrades I want to do later.

You forgot it has as many wheels as a Bugatti Veyron for around 1% of the cost. About as quick probably.....

$150 worth of parts phew was worried they would be expensive.
The radius rod bushes would of been destroyed from when I worked at an airfield from doing 1/2 mile flat out blasts down the runway then jumping on the picks. The new ones should last way longer with what's planned I'll have a good poke around under there ive got a box of spare new bushes will try get them in.

Thread dredge, want to do exactly this widening of my rear alloys inwards only have heaps of room so seems like an effective way if its legal. Any updates? Has anyone done this.

Seen one tow a scissor lift out of hire hirepool before...... lots of wheel spin not much speed.

Will be giving the old engine its last hurrah at drag day I'll try dropping some different tunes in it see if it makes a shred if difference. I just want a number to improve on later be happy if it beats my Triumphs 17.4 to be honest.
Means I need a Wof. Should be easy enough.
Will bring a spill kit in case the crank falls out.......

Fuel gauge was indication only as in to the nearest quarter tank. It would start running low on pressure at around a 1/3 of a tank and you only fill too about 80% anyway so would usually happen when you revved it a bit demand exceeds supply pop bangs out the intake. Temperature of gas in tank temperature of engine and mixer all effected the system.
Cold day it might cough with half a tank.
Thinking back what a cunt of an idea it was but I tolerated it because it was so cheap to run.
