  1. Make a new Epoxy nub then very carefully and slowly drill and tap it use a cork gasket should out live you if you never gorilla it tight in future.
  2. Just had an online yarn about putting 275's on bmw x5 rims where turns out they'll fit the fronts as below nice and square...... maybe I find something wider for the back like a 295 and go full never slip again spec. Rims I'll be going to are 9" front and 10" out back just got to find a set, not uncommon but can be overpriced or trashed.
  3. Did it as part of a vehicle restoration course decades ago on some aluminium pipe and steel, heaps of heat needed and patience. I have done with copper before making coils for my whisky still worked really well.
  4. If someone wanted to donate a kirby I'll totally bang a Briggs and stratton or nitro plane engine on for a "Cordless" one.
  5. I Up next I'll post my sex toy restoration business....... I don't actually do that but jeeze people on here would have it a 1000 comments deep fast.
  6. My girlfriend doesn't know how to roll a lead up and the old one absolutely twisted itself to a lethal pile of knots and split insulation. This is a trial standard construction spec lead that will reach every corner of the house from one power point its resisted the twists so far and flattens out if you leave it somewhere warm.
  7. Haha nope I'm the human equivalent of a bakery pie so have always run a mattress protector for that exact reason.
  8. I knew there'd be someone else with one on oldschool. They are pretty handy once you get used to using them and will suck up nuts and bolts if your not careful and survive. 2 I have are Sentria's so apparently 2006 onwards, not many differences just more rounded off design
  9. I kinda got sucked into (pun not intended) buying extra vacuums to get all the attachments for the one I already had. My old man used the spray attachment to hose used engine oil on the fence like stain and weed killer all in one. His neighbours thought he was nuts out on the lawn vacuuming the fence......
  10. Watched this build from some Russian dudes they do some bizarre yet awesome stuff this a composite bonnet using carpet as the base turns out amazing. Some very good information for those players using resins too, enjoy. https://youtu.be/6zev3HJ5n5Y
  11. @keltikYup it's a mulching vacuum. Really good for detailing cars because you can chop and change attachments and suck up dry fries out from under your seats. You can even get a paint sprayer for it.
  12. Hey Doug if your willing to poke them on a courier to the Waikato im sure they would go to good use.
  13. After. Sucked up all the gravel no sweat.
  14. Bit of test this morning clean the yuck from the work car. Yup does that also used the hose attachment and "turbo! Head" to unravel all my daughter's hair out of the back seat as its the ginga moulting season. Before:
  15. Haha the only way to stop a kirby rep is tell them you already have one.
  16. These things new start at over $2k I buy them fix them up with new parts if needed and move them on at a fraction of that and someone gets an awesome gadget and i get a few hours in the garage win win. Somewhat rewarding. And no I don't have a spare room full of them yet though ive probably fixed up and moved on ten of them now.
  17. Sat together after a thorough autosol polish. Next to my current one I've been using for 9 or so years.
  18. So every now and then I find my self buying and restoring kirby vacuum cleaners.... I just find them cool mechanicly they are a throw back to when things lasted and haven't changed fuck all in 60 years. I found this particular one at cash converters and bargained them down because I knew it had been there a while. If you have no idea what these things are think Morrison reel mower but for your carpet they have a spinning brush that basically combs your carpet up all poofy like an 80's women's hair. Just like a Hillman hunter rather than a Rolls Royce they just seem to survive. Tonight I ripped it to bits and polished the housings up to get it looking loved again. Will fit new drive belts tomorrow and fit the cleaned up bag and see how it goes.
  19. I've got a set of whites superbike bars on my V-twin moped I'll try get Zach a set once he's done riding on dirt. The nudge bars have saved the brake and clutch levers more than once.
  20. Looking good all back together, the new muffler makes it look mint.
  21. Reasons I suggested a gsxr250 in the gn is I used to have one one for about 12 years basically I got back problems and the riding position just killed me my legs would cramp after 15 minutes and bought the fun to an end. Riding position on the gn is magic comfortable as for me (should I jump on) the gsxr250 shriek though when given a hard time is addictive so a swap would be for noise mainly, and just be a cool if a little bit odd should we do it. For now the GN125 runs great and is an excellent fit for Zach.
  22. Mixed up some chameleon green purple blue flip, went to do base coat black and gun decided to play up so I used a stack of thinners clearing it out finally got a good coat of black on and called it a day. Will let the paint harden and go at it again another day give it a light scuff more black then go colour and clear. For now Zach can take parts home it and ride it ground work Is done.
