  1. You've just answered part of something I've wanted to know for a while. Mark II, Chaser, Cresta and Cressida are different chassis, are they?
  2. What model is your X7? Cressida with different bits?
  3. I've been admiring your car in the videos of the Riverside run! Man, Zeb's X6 sounds so good! I'll cut my Commodore springs to height, and if they're not suitable I'll have to look into 350Z springs. Cheers man!
  4. Another small update, just a couple of pics of the planned exhaust. The black splitter is to replace the rear muffler, the victory pipes are removable. I am kind of expecting a little hate for this, but I don't mind.
  5. Ok, so the guy wasn't willing to ship the whole lot so I'm buying the front springs shipped for $70. All in all, not complaining, $400 for shocks and springs all round.
  6. Just bought a set of front and rear ST205 Celica struts and lowering springs on Trade Me. Gonna use the front springs, and sell off the rest. Once this arrives, I will have everything needed to lower the car. Will just need to cut the rear springs, and maybe the fronts. I may have to ask for assistance with this when the time comes, as I have never cut springs before.
  7. All I know is that the rear springs are from a Commodore, and I've been looking at ST205 front springs for the front, then I have the whole set of lower shocks/springs once I cut the springs to the right height.
  8. A big thanks to PowderJZX for helping me sort rear suspension!
  9. I've been for a blat or two in the passenger seat, it's fun even being a passenger. The whine of the first two gears brings a grin to my face every time.
  10. He was rather pissed off and wanted to take it down completely, I talked him into keeping it up.
  11. As will Arthur and I, and maybe Luke. Luke's got his build thread for his AE82 up, it was instantly moved to the 'other projects' section though.
  12. I'm keen on Pompeii, personally, as I've never been there.
  13. Arthur and I were at the last monthly meet. Will be there again next week. And at the Swap Meet and jazz.
  14. Might have to keep that there permanently.
  15. Front shocks arrived today, modifed Monroe Corona inserts (unsure of which model, but 70mm shorter stroke, 50mm shorter body than stock). Will get a pic of them when I can. Now just waiting on PowderJZX's contacts for the rest of the shocks and springs!
  16. Yeah, they've offered to fix it. Which I assume means they're gonna bust out the tap and die set and rethread the two studs.
  17. Just a quick update. Mag and Tyre Direct here in Palmy threaded two wheel nuts, one on each of the front studs. Also, I discovered while the rims have been sitting at Dad's after they came off the Bluebird, one got pretty badly scuffed up. Was annoyed at first, but not worried anymore, and gonna leave it like that for now Went to install the 6x9s I got for my 21st from a friend last weekend, and Dad put a hole in one of them, so he replaced them with some 'Vifa' 150WRMS ones from Jaycar, on clearance at $119. Pretty decent magnets on them, too. Didn't come with speaker covers so stuck the old Pioneer ones on, lol. Also put my head unit and some 4" 40WRMS Response speakers from Jaycar in the front, as I didn't want to cut the door cards up at all, would be a waste with the interior in such good condition. Stuck my old Alpine Type-R sub and Cadence amp in the boot, and that concludes this weekend's updates. Oh, apart from this..
  18. I agree with Vintage, I've always dreamed of doing one of the Super Carrys with a bike engine.
  19. Ryan, do you mean completely remove the air filter, just leave the empty box?
  20. I'm also thinking removable boso pipes, just because..
  21. Powder, I want my 1G to sound something like yours! I want a period correct muffler/tip similar to yours, none of this dumpy shit. Anyone got any idea where I could find something of the sort, or would I be better to get something made up?
  22. Also, what's needed to make a 1G-E sound nice? Apart from getting rid of the noisy factory fan and installing an electric one.
  23. I'm keen on the stuff you have, I can sort the modified bumpstops from somewhere like that. I have 195/45/15s on the wheels atm, I will possibly lower it on the standard wheels and see what that's like when I have the bits and pieces, then I can just get WOFs with the standard wheels maybe..
