Yeah but is the any other supplier of viscous hubs?
-
Do any toyota nerds know which manufacturers supply toyota with their viscous couplings? Is it just Aisin or is there another company? I see on a couple of toyota sites they have ones that aren't aisin but have a squiggle with a dot in it, any ideas on what brand that is and was it ever oem?
Cheers..

My car was liberally fish oiled by the panel beater I used a long time ago. Now that I'm re-restoring it, I need to remove a lot of it. I hate this stuff.
Does anybody have any good tips for efficiently removing it?
Do you need to remove it? .. Fish oil does a good job of denying rust a start..

One thing I'd look at is the other side of the pressure plate where the release bearing meets the spring diaphragm and check for any wear there..

Yeah, its super quirky, not something to re-start the bike at the traffic lights if it stalls....
Feels alot more disconnected from the engine than other kickstarters too, and its like it only rotate the engine 1/4 of a turn. But it works...
Edit: For those of you that don't know, the kickstarter is stored in the fuel tank....

My guess is the oil pressure switch.
I'll go a plus 4 on the pressure switch. Just found the oil leak on a 2000km old ma (fe precursor) that didn't leak at idle. There's a fair chance they're even the same switch.

Wonder if he imported it..

Are you sure they're the right size? I've always found frost plugs fairly easy to install..

In 2013 I bought my kzn185 surf for 12.5 with 220k on the clock and thought I paid too much. That's now up round 20 for the same and mine with 300+ is worth 15.. Not that it matters, I'll prob run it into the ground.
