  1. Totally stripped the wiper linkages and motor... upcoming photo dump
  2. Have managed to get a bit more time today on the wiper rack. Tidied up all the linkages and sand blasted them
  3. A whole lot of Mk1 Escort etch primered goodness !
  4. .and then I found this when I got home from work.
  5. He did a whole lot of sanding, prepping , cleaning, masking
  6. Almost done, just need a cylinder seal kit and I can reassemble the whole thing.
  7. Same process as before... strip , sandblast , etch prime and top coat.... Repeat over and over and over
  8. Wiring look......? ? Sorry peeps, I should've checked my spelling. Wiring Loom !. Anywaaaaay.... bit of a big update coming. I have unearthed a few more parts that need some love... Hydraulic handbrake and Wiper mechanism are next up
  9. Also fitted the battery and mounting box. Happy with how this looks... Need to think about building a wiring look soon
  10. More goodies turned up today courtesy of Group 4 Fabrications in Ireland. Tension strut kit. Saved over $335 importing it myself..
  11. Woo hoo ! Level 3. My panelbeater is now back on the job. Hopefully a few more hours and we can etch primer the exterior.
  12. After some sandblasting and painting I was ready to start reassembly.
  13. I'm running a Twin Cam quick rack which has a long stem pinion. The top rack in the pic is from a standard Mk1, luckily the housings are the same. Only the shafts are a different length.
  14. Stripped the column and found the housing had been bent then straightened. So stripped a spare one for the housing and sandblasted that.
  15. I keep finding parts that need some love, so next up is the steering column and mounting bracket.
  16. Assembled the lower arms and snuck them into a pic too.
  17. Then I finished the rack and mounted it up on the x-member. Happy days!
