Oh hell yes! Awesome amount of pictures to look through mate, thanks for sharing! I love Mazdas and love how you are doing something a bit different with your build. Please keep us updated with all your progress and I want to see lots of vid action of this.
PS: I have a 6pointt 3 piece roll cage from my old RX-3 rally car kicking around not being used. You may be able to convert it/ might bolt in to this if your interested. It's light as hell/full race spec when I had it made.. Just saying..

You're about three weeks too late with the suggestion Tom., changing location 3 days before event is a bad idea.
Its at Hatfields.
Chickity do you still require Jars? May come to this on Sunday but won't make the Wednesday meet up and have a few jars for you. Could give them to someones else on Sunday to give to you but will require a "I WANT JARS" sign to know who to give them to...
Also undecided on which car I will be in. Probably a Mazda, but maybe one of the other cars will get a turn..

Kinda cool in a kinda lame way how the front is slammed and the back is high as. Kinda like a 70's style hotrod sniffer. Like.
Also remember I am just around the corner (literally) if you need and hand.

$54.95 and its about $11 shipping. Could probably get you 15% off the kit price. Also Brown kit of silver?
Hows about 15% off the blue FC kit..

Happy to stick in on a tralier and tow it behind the Hilux, however once you work out the price of trailer hire, it's almost the same as getting a tow company to move it. Unless anyone knows a cheap place to hire car trailers from..
-
Saw a slammed shuttle on Glenfield Road the other day (not Aarons). This someone one here?
-
Hi mate, are you thinking of sticking it on a trailer or just using a tow rope. Had much experience being towed with a rope?
Just wanna know what I'm in for before putting my hand up. Also no hondas. (kidding)

Were abouts are you? Jason at Auckland Radiators is a legend. He used to build some awesome rads for our ealry rotaries.
One thing about copper/brass rads is that you can pretty much chop and change them no worries, by that I mean you can move inlet/outlets from one side to another and change mounting brackets really easily as they are soldered together. With an alli one I would imagine that they would be harder to modifiy as it would all need alli welding down.
I guess what I am saying is with a copper and brass one you could custom fit it to your car, but with an Alli one you might have to custom your car to the rad?

thats why hes asking if it can be used as an oil gauge....
I figured that out after I had make several posts. Because I am slow. *palmface*

Sunday at Hatfields works for me.
-
Also a water temp gauge in a VW would be quite funny.

Hmm bit of topic, but I thought that for every pond of pressure you put into a radiator you raised the boiling point by 3degrees. which meant your average 13psi rad cap meant your radiator water was 139 degrees?
What kind of oil temp gauge do you want. Surely you can get them from super cheap or something. My old 808 had seperate oil temp oil pressure and water temp gauges and I got those from reppco back in the day.

Wenderholm has masses of parking and is just a wee bit further up the road...
Either way I'm keen + bring friends.

Cool. 4x4's are soo much fun. This would look awesome in a matt green or maybe camo (or is that too much?). Is it currently street legal (I'm guessing not by some of the pics but what do i know).
Will follow along with great interest/might learn something for mine...

One day my dad took his newly aquired Mk1 Jaguar around to show his mum (my Grandma). He was all proud as punch etc as you would be in a Mk1. My Grandma came out and said:
"but Greg, it's a mans car!"
He didn't lol.

I could get a few if you wanted, he is parked there every day being the local vet Very cool car, very small aswell! The owner looks a little cramped when driving it haha.
Get some pics please.

Attn Auckland members. I want your glass jars.
If you have any that are heading to the recycling (lid or no lid is fine), please bring them to burger fuel for me instead.
Any size or shape. Pasta/jam/pickle/babyfood, anything will do.
Much appreciated!
I have 6 empty jars sitting in my cupboard right now. My wife saves them all for me to use in the garage, but i already have heaps.
However you may need to bring a 'I want jars' flag so I know who to give them to so i don't look like a dick walking around with a bag of random jars.

The car in the background is worthy of some photos too
Is that an old Austin A40 type thing aka pregnant rice bubble. Always thought they were a kinda cool/never pull any chicks type car.
-
Well the bottom corner of the passenger door is basically gone, but the rust is nowhere near as bad as yours.
Aw yep, Graham Bourke by any chance? I took the Starlet to him for the last patches of rust.
Has some fine prices and does a good job too.
Nah, my mate at Rob at Glenfield Panelbeaters. Only guy I would let work on my cars. He does Concours grade stuff but I'm sure we could work a deal on the green machine..
-
Might be there, but on the bike as the seats are getting done on the 'crab
Think I saw said seats at Grants when I was there this afternoon. He is fixing a small tear in the rear seat of one of the Mazdas. He does amazing work and is resonably priced too.

Spotted in Orewa on my way to mcdonalds, so cool! factory bugeye, faded paint, spotties and racks! And driven by a man in his 60s.
Is that an LPG sticker on the back too? Damn that must be cheap to run.
-
I know a really good panel beater who is just down the road from us. Can talk to him about a deal if you want. That's if you don't have a better plan for your rusty door...
Dell'orto's unreliable modern piece

Awesomeness. Glad to see another rotor on oldschool. Looks super tidy body wise, so hopefully with a quick tune you will be away laughing.
Now the world is full of Internet experts, but from my limited experience working on the rotors I have owned, and now the modern set ups like my FC and mates RX-8 any kind of miss, usually can be traced back to the coils. If the car doesn't come with a service history, I would be changing the plugs first. Then try changing the coils and even the leads. Even if this doesn't fix the problem they will probably need doing anyway along with a oil filter change. But obviously I wouldn't be doing any of the above advice till I had been givien a second and third opinion...
Anyway, awesome car mate and will love to hear more about it and how you get on.
