  1. right where was i, bath room, install right decided to make a bit of extra ply on the bottom of the tray, so if in future every thing shifts, atleast the tray wall have a solid base and wont crack, also decided to poly the whole bath room area for extra protection..... also made a little bit for the toilet to attach to, and to give the toilet a square areaas the walls are on 2 different angles, ((cheers to the builders for that) tray in test fit of the main part of the unit and a little frame to support the tray etc do i give two hoots?? no but ill drink it, nice beer, and i love the little slogan "with great beer comes great wisdom, but we only care about the great beer" back cupboards in...ish and start of a wall start of frame to support the unit, little bit pissed off with the build of the unit, they havn't moulded it square, and no matter what i did i just couldnt get it perfect, which bugs me, more so because i not a perfectionist if i was black it would drive me nutty was that a pun... a bad one, and a kind of disapointing beer, wasnt nutty, but was black, but had none of the malty smokeyness that i was hoping for... aghwell started on the supports for the draw units that we bought they are bloody heavy, so didnt want to go too light on the framing,, also moved the air heater, and rerouted the exhaust, notice the bitching muffler. yeah thats right, i have a pimpin muffler inside, mrs painted the cupboards, and i chucked up the first internal wall of the wardrobe didnt take any photos of the frame in there and that was it up to date and finished on when i opened the bottle, it smelt like freshly picked canabis and tasted mildly hoppy, best lightish ale ive had for a while,
  2. right sorry for the delays, hard drive died, bathroom pick up was required (shower tray was a no show, so had to buy another bath room) and all sorts of other excuses any way pic dump time any way, drivers seating area/bed are done cupboards done, cut the doors for both sides and painted painted the roof to seal it in before doing the wall paper stuff also started on the back cupboards and test fitted the boiler and cut all the vent holes for it made a bit for the back for the toilet to attach to, back wall is all friggin angles, so had to do a bit of planing etc, fun times attached the bracket and cut the hole in the side for the cassette to come out of then fitted and tested the toilet the mrs has finished covering all the cushions etc so had a test fit to see what it looked like thats it, hopefully ill get the shower tray intoday as well, but the mrs has swanned off and its still in the back of the car, so nothing else for it beer o'clock picked that up yesterday when i was down in the engerland, tasty drop, also decided i didnt like england, if only because there was too much traffic, also never seen so many trucks in my life, left edinburgh at 5am and headed down the m6 motorway, there was 10 trucks to every car, i did like lancaster, although loads of gypsys, may be because the appleby festival is next week, or may be the gypos just like lancaster, who knows
  3. sorry about the lack of updates, the laptops hard drive crapped it self, fucken thing is only 6 months old, just got a new solid state drive delivered and freshly installed windows again, so ill do a pic dump, also yesterday was spent driving and riding for 16hours to pick up a new bath room, and an old 80's bmw r80 monolever, so that's a new project for after the summer, at the moment its sunny at 9pm sunset at 9.45 but light until around 10.30pm, and the fucken sun is up and blazing at 4:30am friggin weird, and really sucks balls in the winter when its the oppisite way round and its barely light at 10am and dark at 3pm
  4. yeah yesterday was crazy, at one point it was hailing so hard that there was about an inch of hail stones on the ground. fucken northern hemisphere.
  5. lol, i might just do that and start with a different base, camper bases like these are just poorly made, id never buy one again, they are just built to be light with no other structual considerations taken into account. id start with a horse truck / small furniture truck type thing, with the luton over the cab, a decent floor and a steel frame, while the merc has a good motor chassis and cab, the bones of the camper part are just shit,
  6. edit: page 1 get!!! welcome to page 2 well, kind of productive, and a few fuck ups as well, had to pick up some more timber, screws, paint, filler, ply, blah blah blah, so a good few hours were wasted before id even started, but got the rest of the sofa/bed framed out, and the back panel done (which is where the fuck ups occured) measure thrice cut once... hmmmnzs new motto any way, decided to bring in the bohemith 200ah gel battery and make sure it fitted along with my pride and joy, pure sine wave inverter, with built in charger and bypass, also works as a ups system as well, fancy stuff, none of this crappy modified sinewave crap for me. friggin thin weighs a pant load, nothing compared to the 60kg battery though decided id cut out the holes for the displays etc top one is for the inverter, middle is voltage bottom is water level, i think ill make up a wee panel for a battery disconnect, but rest of the stuff will be in the wardrobe, and beer of the day autumn nuts, although its spring here, and still feels like winter
  7. can you put up some pics of the engine bay and interior are you going to get those little bonnet scoops that came out of some of the gto models or leave as is?
  8. well id like to say a productive day, but ran out of timber. but did manage to make the shelf for the oven, and the cupboard and a little bottom plate, to tidy the kitchen area up and then started on the bed frame on the drivers side yeah, so beers of the day samuel smith beers today, i bought a multi pack that came with a free pint glass!!! and their chocolate stout, almost as good as mikes brewerys version in the naki (stop in at mikes if you are heading to the naki, worth a visit)
  9. scrap that, its working fine now? may be didnt like my uk ip, any way, looks pretty damn straight, loving the oldschool mirrors, any major plans for it?
  10. im not sure if its just me, but none of the pics are appearing "The URL doesn't refer to an image, or the image is not publicly accessible." so either your link is wrong, or iforce is playing silly buggers, id open a photobucket account and host your images there, then you can use the [img=pic name.jpg] tags and the photo will appear straight on the page
  11. well i got my splash back... back today, the guys at pentland tech did an awesome job as always, (they do all my bike related stuff when im in scotland) and did the ali back panel as well, pretty talented bunch of guys, any way also added the door and blank panel on the right side (bloody took me ages) no way could i be a kitchen fitter, i would have been fired if some one was having to pay me an hourly rate, was starting to get seriously fucked off with it, but got there in the end and my separating wall, with the nogs in for the shelves to hold up the grill and oven yeah bitches it has a grill, for cheese on toast midnight style, have to get the guys to make me a stainless surround for the grill, as it looks like ive thrown out the original ;( shiney stuff (how do you spell shiney? shiny? shinee? ) and of course, beer of the day maplemoor, quite nice maple taste
  12. well its been reasonably productive couple of days, managed to finish the 2 seats, beer of the day then set about putting up the laser to mark a line around the van so i had a mark to work from when putting up the cupboards next up was making the frame for the cupboards and what not, future wiring if i decide to add lights under the cupboards hmmm afternoon beer??? well ok if you insist next up was boxing in the cupboards and beer of the day.... be rude not to beer
  13. yeah, hadnt even checked this yeah will be doing most of eastern europe this summer (nz winter) and hopefully another ski season in france (if i can convince the mrs again..) she's not to keen at the moment, but ill keep at her, im not sure im quite ready to face actual reality just yet
  14. well reasonably productive day, got the second wall of the kitchen up, very art deco with all the curves spent alot of time with the router trying to get the right curves and such so the kitchen fits flush in the gap, worked out pretty well, and then made a start on the first seat/bed frame on the kitchen side it'll be 2 seats facing each other with a table between, which will come down and form a bed.. a shortish bed at 182cm long, but the other side will have a slightly longer bed/sofa which will be about 195cm so if i get kicked out of bed above the cab, ill have some where to sleep and that was today
  15. chucked in the led lights, 5 of the buggers 4.2watts each and the light given, pitch black out side, no flash, pretty damn good, i reckon
  16. well, well, well. umm, well, hasnt been a busy few days, but any how, added the ply to the front and first interior wall is in beer of the day
  17. ok, today i managed to get most of the roof/ceiling up, which was a bit of a sucess since i didnt start till late in the day, just the wee curve at the back of the van to do and that'll be all the lining done on the inside, looking toward the back that was all done in 6mm ply, so has a bit of flex, but still miles better than the shit that was on there, and my lights turned up, well the lamps 4.2w led fitted into a g5 halogen down light fitting, i wasnt sure if 5 was going to be bright enough, but they are probably going to be too bright, luckily i bought fittings with little switches, so individual lights can be turned off, so onwards and upwards, the end is in sight... ok its still quite a way off but i can see it
  18. well pretty much all the walls are up now, took a bit of time adding even more supports etc, but the van feels solid now, which was the aim still to do the front bits behind the drivers and passenger seats, but thats tomorrow... depending ... and my cock up now fixed roof next, but ill wait until my lights turn up, just in case they arnt bright enough and i have to add more,
  19. cock up of the day, wrong angle ;( oh well these things happen,
  20. as per usual, no posts for a couple of days, any way you didnt come here to read about it, you came for the pics wiring in, gone for the house style of wiring, since ive gone and built a frame and all roof repairs, there is another skin over the top, but thought id patch the holes in case the skin gets a hole boom first of the panels to go in, 9mm marine ply bitches, slightly excessive, but, after that shit 3mm stuff that was originally on was just like wet cardboard, i thought fuck it, all or nothing, the new switch board locations, 12v on the left and 230 on the right, the mrs doing her bit (sweet fuck all) oooo getting closer to a complete wall and its in, wee hee and a ginger beard ginger beer for a ginger beard angry ginger beard and thats up to date, more soon
  21. ok, update time... well most of the frame is in, boo ya, almost time for electrics... and of course beer of the day brew dog, 5am saint, a hoppy pleasure
  22. well no update for a couple of days, i havn't been idle, just havn't been taking pictures any way these arnt up to date, but the back is on and beer its actually coming along, ive been trying to find a moulding for the back, but not much luck finding a matching peice, hell even finding moulding is proving to be a mission, ill post more pics later today, on the state of the inside,
  23. did brendan bring it some where?? could do with a new front shock me thinks, by far and away the scariest bike ive ever owned, handling is just this side of a death trap
  24. that might be an idea, so something off a 608d might be the go, i wonder what the difference is suspension wise between the vans, as far as i can tell they all use the same chassis but have different weight classes, (apart from the dual wheels) mucho thanks guys, extra leaf and some super heavy duty shocks and possible sway bar might be just the ticket
