  1. I had a colleague who had a zzr250 he was selling and people were asking on TM is it in showroom condition and if not what would it take to make it? And I sed he should say "a fucking miracle" and he did just that and never did hear back from the guy.

The KDX is turning out to be a pup, unsurprisingly. Ive done the helicoil twice but the plug keeps winding in on the piss so I can’t get a good seal. Also, the rear shock rebound is incredibly stiff. I can push the suspension down and almost get to the count of 10 before it has rebounded despite backing the adjustment off to zero. She rips pretty good though but it’s not nice enough to spend a heap of $ on.

There are 2 adjustments for the damper on those shocks I think, one at the top and o e at the bottom

Yeah, there was a brief fashion down here for road bike engined trail bikes. Triumph engined Maico, CB360 engined CR250 etc. I built a RM360 chassis with a GS400 twin in it - which turned out a nice road/trail bike.

At Sound of Thunder today for a look. Britten is a customer bike - don't know whose. Having some probs too.  Saw a bike you'd like Rudi, Kevin Ryan from the West Coast has one of Ray Breingan's lowboy Norton frames with a GM 500 speedway motor in it. Rough as guts.

I think i saw your rm360 with the gs motor, looked cool, was a yamaha xt600 with a CB550 motor in it around for a bit to.

My Norton with the wideline frame and esso motor will be as rough as shit, you should see the tank I got for it

Yeah, you'd only put it on a bike for display. The old man rode speedway prewar so I know all about coming round in a line running on the pilot, then flag drop and pull the string to drop the trap. Wide open riding it on the kill button.

This has probably got a Binks fitted. Works big-port AJS - one of two that came here for the agents to race. The old man won NZ beach champs 3 years running in the mid 20's. plus mile and half mile grass wins. Rode for the agents down here - Bells. Pic is after winning on Brighton beach in we think 1927.  Both the works bikes are long lost.

    What was your dads name?

Yes it was a Binks rat trap, its about a foot long.

Paul Hayes was telling me how every friday evening they would load up a truck with all the 1920 and 30s motorcycles and parts from his dads shop and tip it into the Waikato river

Even the concentric stuff is getting rare now. All my prewar Amal stuff went with the Rudge project when it sold. If there's something you can't find just ask. i have a couple of contacts here with some stock.

Any of that pree war Amal or racing stuff is so valuable now,

I know where a rat trap carb is but its basically useless and obsolete as so one likes using the kill switch as a trottel
