How long do you need the tube?, I have a lenth of seamless tube with a 11/16 threed in one end, it was half a tie rod of a T bucket
If the tapered hole is worng in the steering arm it could be reemed?
The rods ends you have with the angle are HT Holden,
the ealy ford V8 rod ends are straight with out the angle, there made by Fuji
-
I have some 11/16 nuts here if you want, but they are left hand only
-
This bike is painted with Karaka colour steel spray cans and some of it is powder coated with Karaka, its a bit on the shiney side but the guy I built it for was happy

The ealy holden tierod ends you speek of will have a 11/16 UNF thread Ford use it to, its a real bum size
-
That bike looks like it has a Royal Enfield motor and ealy Harley Davidson Castle front forks

Also can't pull the skin off a rice pudding
Define can't pull the skin off a rice pudding haha, its cheep to run and rugged, would probley go better than the Viva motor.

How about a Holden Star-fire 4 cylinder from the 80s, apparently they run of the smell of an oily rag.
-
He has an 80s Isuzu 4wd witch has been going strong for 9 years, witch now has to keep that the new one was a dud.

Set fire and roll into LMVD yard - walk away in slow motion impervious to explosions of other cars catching fire in background. (que some awesome song for soundtrack)

'96? Not a 4JX1 then? How'd he do it?
All I know is its an Isuzu Bighorn and it dosn't go anymore and it never will with out alot of fixing and money
-
Dos you tranny still have reverse?
-
My cousin just bought a 1996 Isuzu bighorn from a LMVD on trade me, he is now $6000 out of pocket and its dead under a tree

I was wondering if all BW 35s are the same to, the Falcon one has a 28 spline yoke, triumph has a 25 spline yoke and Volvo has a 27.
some of them have the dipstick tube going into the pan and others have it going though the housing.
was starting to look for one to, mine dose a mad shudder on take off

hahaha. aluminium drop tank?
I was thinking more about a bit of 10" OD ally-clad exhaust tube, some baffles and end caps, cut the filler out of the old tank, the tank is behind the front seats.
-
I give up, its going to the scrap, I have made a huge mess, everything I did made it worse, the baffles have come loose, I have wasted heeps of solder and brazing rods, its just a hunk of shit, filled it wp with phosphoric acid and it revealed more holes
-
heat it and separate pieces. galv dip pieces. re- assemble
They have rolled the seamed then soldered them to seal, it won't come apart
-
Finding a replacement tank isn't an option?
I can get a reproduction tank but there expensive, its 76 years old, I will put up some photos tomorrow of the what I have done to the tank.
-
hot galv dip?
The soldered seams make that not posable
By the sounds of it you wouldn't get much else other than the patched piece of steel back if you tried that.
Pop rivet soldered seams and tank seal the crap out of it again
haha, sounds like the time they put my chromed parts in the wrong stripper barth.
I refuse to use tank sealer

Yer I was going to gas weld it, I cut the side out last night and patched it but the sides are soldered and that turned to shit, don't trust it to seal with the mig,
I don't think they can zink the inside of a tank successfully, only as far as the anode will go.
-
treat the steel with some phosphoric acid based metal prep, then fully wash, dry then oil the inside. should last pretty well then.
Cool, maby if I slosh some diesel round inside?
-
I had to cut the bottom out of my Fords petrol tank as it was full of pin holes, my plan is to get it acid dipped and weld a new bottom back in, I was hoping to get away without putting in a tank sealer kit.
I used a POR 15 kit about 8 years ago in a bike but now its failing, and that Kreem brand is real shit, it lasts about a month. I am over tank sealers
My question is will it rust like crazy if I leave it bear steel inside?

I have made branding irons in the past for burning into wood, I am a an artist blacksmith, send me a pm and I can send you some photos if you want?

Did they have pull handles? MGBs got button handles after a few years because the doors would pop open in a crash and it would fold like a card... Suppose trumps were a bit more solid though
Yes it had pull handles with a button, the door exploded, the outer skin burst out and the inner frame folded in.
