If there's high resistance via the condernser, that will show up poor insulation on the points.

Voltage takes the easiest way to earth.

Have you ohmed the plug caps and leads ?

Yes zero ohms, copper core HT leads, i need to check the points plate has a good earth come to think of it

They are also heavy cast so they can be pushed a bit more than a similar sized China lathe without flexing/vibrating.

There's good modern metric options, but if cheap an old myford is a good buy,

My myford had a huge chuck bolted to the faceplate, could do huge jobs in it,

Ole man Marcroft’s place….polisher extraordinaire…. related to the mad hater though…..

There use to be a shit load of old engines is he still there?

Do you know anything about the guy round the conner with all the shit in his yard?

  4. I can't get this Dnepr to run properly, its like a bad condenser, its backfiring under load, iI tried 3 different brand new condensers, its sparking at the points alot, I have a 0.22 mf condenser, changed the coil to, I am wondering if it being 6v makes it require a higher capacity condenser?

They're actually very competitively priced, do you just mimic the old muffler when deciding size and weld in the same place?

Basically just cut out the old muffler but with my friends 57 Fairlane its getting 2" duels with 10" Cobys up by the transmission, will sound nice with the old Y block

What's the go with those are they actually pretty mint?

I have been fitting them them to everything from motorcycles to lawn mowers, they do one called a Super Coby that has a chamber in the front that sounds super nice on an old 6 cylinder, I had some of them on a v8 with duels and it was nice, I have one on my 4 cylinder Volvo

Is the wreckage available ?  FWIW there's a Bradford van running around Waiheke island now with a pair of Norton ES2 barrels on it. I'm told it's still alive - it was built here in ChCh in the 70's by some guys I knew. Not hard to graft cylinders onto a flat twin.

    They called it the Bradnaught.

I will enquire about the blown engine
