Talk thread: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/39587-sam-and-his-triumph-addiction-car-number-93/ After selling the Hillman wagon I have been hunting for a suitable replacement. I could not believe how expensive oldschool stuff has become. I bought a 1979 Vauxhall Chevette with plans of doing the usual mods. But then this thing popped up & I like it more than the Chevette. A friends father owned it about 5 years ago. After he sold it I didn't see it again. Then it popped up on tardme last week needless to say I was all over it. So here she is: The paint is coozed. Crazy cracked on the roof, bonnet & boot lid. but aside from that its pretty good. 1st job is to replace the stoved in door: Immaculate dash. Not a crack in sight The 2.0L Donk with 1 3/4" SU's without emission control! Thats a big plus. I was happy to see this spin on filter adapter. Bloody expensive from Rimmer bros UK It also came with some other sweet as goodies. Like this lovely blanket...you can see the Chevette lurking in the background. All these books & service logs I especially love this one: H4 semi sealed Conversion so you can actually see at night: And a couple of awesome Old school stickers I'm pretty chuffed with it. An overdrive box & 2.5 motor wouldn't go a miss. I'm planning to try something slightly different (different to what I usually do) with this one.

Slacker_Sam.
Today I did this: However I think its a bit too low at the back. So Ive got some 1 inch spacers to chuck under the springs. I love white walls on dirty steels.
Slacker_Sam.
I acquired another door to replace my dented one. Swapped my door card & wood trim over. Another day in paradise I sprayed the inside with some cavity wax & gave the door shuts a good clean. Hanging it was a bit of a pain. Still needs some fine tuning. The white stuff is spider webs. Stinky Diesel C32 Laurel in the background.
Slacker_Sam.
I'm currently using the old girl as my daily seeing as both my jap cars & my swedish car are broken! It purred to the Hanmer meet with no issues at all & returned a respectable 30mpg. But I want better. Soo in the quest for better fuel economy I got this: Hopefully overdrive will give me a few extra mpg. In other news I fitted up my 15x9s with some 195-50-15s. Two days later I was pulled over by the local constabulary informing me that they "are not allowed" and telling me about all the inherent dangers of my wheel & tyre combination. Thankfully he was a nice guy about it & told me to go home and take them off.
