troyzakp60
hey guys here i have a te71 liftback //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/34696-troys-te71-liftback-discussion/ it is factory 3tc with a t50 box but some one had put a 2tgeu in it. did most of the conversion pretty well but the wiring was abit dodgy. it came with compress springs at the front with shorter inserts and cobras and monroe gts for the rear only one little dent that bothers me but will be and easy fix part from that the body is pretty straight my mates wheels here 14x6.5 i have some work equips that i will be putting on it once i sort some other stuff it came with the engine not going, suspected bottom end. i susd out and engine as soon as i got it and this 2tgeu popped up that had been worked ect so i had to. the engineas soon as that arrived i got it in asap and was very happy with the result. once it hits power band it really goes tried to tidy as much as the dodgy wiring as possible. had a couple of problems with it running but it was just alternator and had a couple spare any way. i bought some kp61 fender mirrors like these ones but straight black basically the same as te71 mirrors and some twin headlight surrounds and grill. i really want to run them but its hard to find all the parts to do so and im %90 sure they are going to fit easy. next im wanting to find some buckets to see if i can actually make them fit i also bought a pair of import bumpers for it which is pretty cool. the front one bolted in just stuck out half and inch more than normal but nothing noticeable. ill give it a good clean and maybe paint it up. the rear is going to be a bit harder cause they slot in the back rather then bolting on to the mounts same as factory but all i will have to do is cut some squares into the back and make some mounts also put a pair of the equips on but really didnt like the fitment a and they needed lower pro tyres. im going to but some new wheels for it some thing a bit wider and an offset that suits mounted up the one side of the mirrors and they turned out good . a wee pic with DUXZ GSR (http://oldschool.co....age__hl__lancer)
troyzakp60
sorry bout terrible photoso ive changed my mind with the 2tgeu and im now moving to a 3tgte. i found one straight away that my mate was building for his liftback but he decided to go with another engine choice. so ive now sold the 2tgeu that was in the TE and have bought the 3tgte set-up at the moment it is still in the shop getting built. its had the whole bottom end re built , rings ect. should be done by the end of the week or so. it comes with everything but there is a couple things i need to get still. intercooler and and exhaust made up which should be an easy task Also may get the engine bay painted while engine is out as someone has matte blacked it Also got some new new wheels. ssr mk2 type x2 13x9 bands and the rest 6.5 came with 6 centres and bands. i am definitely going to do some guard work but that's sweet. my plan is to widen x2 more of the bands , maybe not into 9s but 8.5s or 8s to run at the front. and get them centres painted red and the bands a metallic silver. maybe something like this. troyzakp60
its been a while since ive updated this . ive finally got the 3tgte back from the rebuild.its been a long wait but defiantly worth the wait. alot has happend while. so as soon as i got it back we started to put it in. not much was needed to be done, it all bolted in and intercooler piping was like it was meant to fit. troyzakp60
I have two options for my exhaust at this stage. Either a 2.75 with a resinator and muffler or 2.5 to resinator to 3inch. I think ill use the 2.75 at this stage. But it should be running pretty soon, we have put most the wiring in just need a mate to wire some dash wires ect up. I also took my wheels in the other day to be widend. Ive got with 9s on the rear and 8.5 in the front with a staggerd offset.
Guest troyzakp60
interrcoller piping is now completely cut and fitted along with the intercooler being mounted. only abit of hacking and cutting was need to be done to fit the intercooler but it fits nice now along with the oil coiler. also got hold of this front facing plenum which is quite handy, also having less intercooler pipping so it should boost quicker and none of that across the motor business. relocated battery to the boot as there basically wasn't any room in the engine bay and would have got in the way of the air flow meter. ive finally got all the parts i need to convert the front to twin headlight. there isnt to much need to be done, i just have to space the buckets out abit and for some reason there is wiring for twin headlights and all that so that is pretty handy to. Guest troyzakp60
i tried my mates starsharks to find out what type of fitment i wanted. these here are 14x8.5. and then the wheels how i bought them. 13x9.the fitment here was alot better so i stuck with the 9s on the rears and the 8.5s where good on the front.
