New wheels, Stoked!

Got the pcd re-drilled to 108mm

dscf0057r.jpg

do they fit...

They aren't much wider than my old wheels, although they sit 10mm closer to the strut due to offset

I have 7mm clearance, plus my tires will have a very slight stretch so they won't close this gap up anymore.

This picture will explain what i mean

Car made the 10 hour trip back home from wellys to whangarei without missing a beat

Bought a bunch of suspension components today, got some adjustable shocks for the rear, a 2.4 quick rack, anti-dive kit & I'm replacing all bushes to Polyurethane.
Can't wait untill these arrive should be fun to drive

Stripped out all the interior and got into spraying all the nooks & cranny's with a couple of coats of fish oil, will allow a good week of drying before i install a bunch of sound insu that i bought, hopefully this reduces all the in-cabin noise or I'm going to have to chock my engine a bit and put a pee-shooter on it, Its loud

Just been messing Around with the small stuff..

The 1600 crossflow, its got a 32/36 weber and has a 234 cam. Gave it abit of tlc, so should run mint through summer. Flushed the radiator, changed the oil and replaced all filters also checked/rewired everything in the engine bay that looked dodge (found two shit connections, lucky i found these now & not at 2am on the side of the road or something trying to diagnose whats wrong)

The fitment of the aftermarket tailights for eskies is shit to say the least. They sat a good 10mm out from body and were uneven. I spent some time filing the outer lense to suit my panels & messed around with the housing. I re-drilled new pilot holes & eventually i got them sitting nice & flush

p1010072g.jpg

Got all my sound insulation down. In goes the carpet don't think my cars seen carpet for about 8 months now!

Also this arrived in the mail!! :-) Still waiting on my other stuff, split the orders up avoid customs fees

Long time no update!! Been away on trips with work for the most part of the year..   Now i'm back in camp its all go

Kinda sad to see the crossflow go was a great engine pretty good for a 1600 from the 70's thats for sure heres a quick vid just before i removed it

Crossflow taking its last breaths

Engine bays gone from this....

p1010066kj.jpg

To this

img0246co.jpg

battary tray removed, radiater support cut back. Ready to have some of the holes etc filled, gussets welded in & seam welded. Undecided on chassis rail mounts will see how the engine fits may fab some up to go off the crossmember

Started to take back the underside, will be taking it all back to bare metal not quite as fun as the engine bay as i get covered in shit

img0247as.jpg

Far from there but its a start.. will be chipping at it for the rest of week/ weekend once its all back i will start welding up the bay & seam welding the chassis rails then onto the mounts

WOOHOO! :-D

Picked up my engine,  Late model Spec R / With 6 speed tran will be converting to 5 speed most likey before i drop it in. Solves speedo drive issue + the 6 speeds can't handle much more than 300hp

Very motivating opening the garage to see this, currently fixing the firewall / heater bowl section you can see the damage on my last post currently making up my own panels and welding them in

All in all, Stoked

Ok.... change of plan for the escort!

For now i want to save some $ so I'm putting the 1600 back in coupled to a 5 speed. Have been thinking maybe a 4age or 12a would of been more suitable? plenty of time to decide as i will put something in it one day

Picked up some parts yesterday, picked up a type 9 for $300

He chucked in two diff heads as well which was choice, any help I.D'ing them would be good, he said one was an lsd internal cones or something don't know.

If you've got any ideas please let me know  :)
