Ok, i purchased my Ex a few months back now... so i thought id post my progress on the beast... :pirate:

Purchased this Ex lancer on trademe had a rough yellow closed door paint job, 17" black and chrome mags and gsr bucket seats, on cutties.

Was pretty much a quick fix to sell :shaking2: .

So 1st thing to go was the mags :shaking: .

Put them on my mazda familia as they were a 4 x 114.3 & 4 x 100 multi stud

then swapped that familia for this mint suzuki carry van HAHAHAHA SCORE :bounce: !!!

found and brought another cheap pair of 17" mags until i find some more oldschool looking rims.

So it came up like this...

Looked fine, for now....

Next on the agenda was the bucket seats... I hate the GSR ones so off they went on trade me

So the search was on! i found some cream recaro bucketseats from a lantra??? or something and they looked the part and fitted the oldschool look...

The fabriq was ripped here and there but it didnt mind me...

Got bored one day so i decided to paint the 17"s black. Went to auto paint on central park drive, the hooked it up... got some gloss plack mag/wheel paint they told me what sandpaper to used and how to do it an all...

so i sanded them back etch primered and painted them gloss black... Left the chrome center caps and they came up like this!

191753204_full.jpg

Not to shabby!

Next was the back seat... Looked high and low for an EVO 1 rear seat but couldnt find one... so i replaced the old ripped one with a standard cream one... gave it a clean with some fabriq cleaner and it came up ok...

It was a cold morning and the Ex decided to suck a kumara... wouldnt start but turned over a little... thought it was the battery but it was relatively new... so went to super cheap auto and got me a performance coil and a contact set

191846902_full.jpg

Brought a pair black and grey leather bucket seats off trademe, not to sure if im going to put them in the van or the lancer yet will have to wait and see...

191848519_full.jpg

They have an ugly ass 'playboy' stiched right in the middle of the seat! (it is yellow though) haha might see what i can do with it...

Brought Karlb's 'Karl's 82 Ex Lancer build Discussion viewtopic.php?f=18&t=26463' Ex lancer grill as i wanted something different, Shot for the grill bro :king: ...

was straight as just needed a new paint and bade as it didnt come with it...

came up like this after i pulled it apart, cleaned the lights, sand blasted it, sprayed it black and scored a ralliart badge off trademe for $5 haha...

192331014_full.jpg

Next was the Dash... took the old brown shitty one out...sanded the cracks down a little to make them flush, spot putty/ bogged it up then 3M vynil painted it gloss black...

Also scored a sas racing wheel and boss kit so decided to put that in too...

Came up a million dollars, and back in it went....

:thumbleft: YAY!!!! :thumbright: Scored some MINT!!! Black and grey GRS EX LANCER door cards :compress: ....

just need a bit of a clean...

.jpg

doorcard3.jpg

Also painted all the window winders, arm rests and ashtrays with that 3M vynil black and the fit on a breeeeze....

My little brother being such a GC brought me some black and yellow MOMO floor mats for Christmas...

Look exactly like this...

195315105_full.jpg

stands out with the yellow paint job... I also brought some of this yellow trim off trademe for $2.99 a meter on trademe, This dude as some MINT good quality products for cheap! Check him out!

I put the trim on the dash, down the center consol and on the door cards(looks mean in the armrest/handle grooves and fits perfect...

202718971_full.jpg

Pulled the shitty brown carpet out today, the pedal mat was ripping off a bit

198055276_full.jpg

Got the hook up through my work when an AUTEX® sale rep came in and said he would help me out.

He dropped off a roll of Blackish, grey carpet(was ment for the suzuki carry but) decided to throw it in the EX...

I cut it to fit the floor, parcel tray and boot and still have a little left over. LOOKS LIKE NEW!!

202719227_full.jpg

Decided to hook some sounds up today as the EX had nothing, not even a head deck... Have a really Dope set up in the van and had a few things lying around. Couldnt find any stereo wires what so ever so decided to go through one of the connector wires. Just ran the memory through the power earthed the beast and wella... had the head deck going... Its only a cheapo JVC but does the trick... Next was the speakers... and not suprised but YAY no speaker wire hahaha so re ran a wired the speaker wire with some fusion speaker wire i had lying around and it worked... So i hooked up my Soundstream sps 6" speakers and have just left them sitting in the tray under the glove box as i didnt want to cut any holes in my precious GSR door cards HAHA... I think i might cut a hole in that tray and try and box them underneath??? next was the ALPINE TYPE R components... These speakers are the SHHHIIIIAAAATTTTT.... haha the tweeters on this set up will burst ear drums... set these up in the rear parcel tray with the crossovers next to them and the tweeters by the seat belt... put my soundstream Lil Wonder II in the middle of the parcel tray and ran the wires through the tray to the boot where the black and yellow kicker sub awaits haha... mean set up for the Lancer i think...

Will throw some pics up this weekend... and keep updating as i go, thats it so far so as far as aesthetics go im just about done... then on to the 4g63 after i save HAHAHA merry Xmas and happy new year to all the Oldschoolians... :santa: EVOLPEACE out!!! :salute:

Right Oh, Have uploaded some of the pics from my last post including the interior. As you can see the carpet went in well, the mats looks the part and the door cards came up a million dollars. Thats pretty much it for inside Have hooked up a couple of smoked gages as you can see in the pic. ANNOYINGLY infront of the clock haha.

202718899_full.jpg

Oh yeah and as you can see kind of in the other photos i decided to put those MONZA leather buckets in the lancer... I modified the bottom plate on the bucket seats by drilling two new hole which would suit the ex lancer factory rails. Was a snug fit but they are in haha

Brought some modgies and they were sprayed black. They're in mint condition no curbing all centercaps ect so i sandblasted the front and polished the back side then restored them back to chrome. Look nicer than the black 17" i done earlier. I have also fitted the Grill and mounted some black fenders.

Off to auto paint on central park drive this saturday. They match any car colour no matter what the paint and give you 2x spray cans for $50. Only on saturdays and they close at 12 or 1. They have mean customer service and help you with any painting need including paneling (DAMIEN!!!!) haha I need to do a few touch ups here and there as there is a small rust buble annoying me on the front of the bonnet! you can kind of see it in the pic above. I brought some 3m black bumper paint from supercheap and am hopefully going to paint all the black trim on the outside to freshin things up. Will post some pics of this...

Also got some sexy looking, really well made speaker spacers for the back of the EX's parcel tray.

200622824_full.jpg

They were a bit shabby but witha good clean and a vynil painting of black they came up mint! Have got the type R components and the soundstreams sitting in them at the back.

So alot of work ahead for the weekend! Fingers crossed.

Purchased some 3m Black bumper acrillic paint from supercheap auto the other week so decide to crack onto that yesterday.

The bumpers and side bits were becoming a bit faded and tiresome so 1st things 1st

PREP! taped her up

02022012358.jpg

02022012360.jpg

Then ran a quick hand sand to smoth it out and gave it a couple of coats... CAME UP GREAT!

Wasnt to sure what to do with the lancer tag towards the rear wheel arch so i left it... Then had a sudden flash and stole me partners nail art brush and got my chrome bumper spray out. Done a paint(reluctantly) over the "lancer" part. Then i sprayed the chrome bumper paint into a container lid and hand painted the lancer back on. 1st coats down and will give it a second tomorrow. didnt come up too bad!

Then off came the paper and tape and it turned out sweet. Next is the rear bumper and other side...

Dont those BLACK PLATES LOOK SEXY!!!!!

Have also pulled boot lid off and have sanded it down and primered it... now painting it black to match the door sills and engine bay. The engine bay is looking a little tiresome so i might freshen it up with a coat.
