mkcortina
Its been over a year since i updated this i havent really done alot on it been too busy with work. The only good thing about that is ive managed to get more money to buy the nice things for it. just need time to get them out of the box and on to the car. Ive decided to change a few things on it im removing the fibreglass guards and replacing them with steel 1's. Im going to get it stripped back to bare metal sand and media blast it (just need to find a place to do it) Ive got most of the parts that i need all i need is the gauges (which i should get this week) and to get the front struts changed to coil overs. and of course get the body work done. Ive Repaired a bit of the rust but i think its going to be a christmas job. I finaly got my alloy hubs and mags 5 16" x7" super 8 as you can see there is much room but i could of gone down to a 15" which i might do later last sunday i built this so it might make it easier to put all the under body stuff on like watts linkage and anti trap bars and seat bolt mounts. hopefully i might be able to get alot done over christmas so i can get it to the paint shop. mkcortina
The tacho arrive the other month I started taking it back to bare metal. Under seal is the worst thing to remove. First i used a heat gun and scraped as much crap off as i could. Then i used a wire cup to remove the rest and this is the results of a weekends work. i even tried sand basting it off and it took even longer. So in the end i decided to get the whole car acid dipped as the paint was all cracked and all needed to come off. I mangaged to find a place that would dip the whole car. I got it back yesterday it its not as many holes as i thought there would be. The doors cam back with only a couple of holes and now they look new the gaurds arent too bad a few holes but most of it still solid. The stripper managed to loose a couple of parts hopefully they will find them in a tank today. I also got the rear leaf springs reset 3" lower and took the front struts to suspension tech to get made into coil overs with bilstein front and rear also getting a 24mm swaybar, need to pick them up next week. So the next job for me is to go around and repair all the holes and get it ready for paint.
