L0WMK2
this is what ive been told so far, - use any alternator (change from neg earth) - use a mk5 cortina alternator (change from neg earth) - use a escort 1300 or 1600 (no need to change from neg earth) - use a mk2 cortina alternator (been told Australians started putting them in) - use a mk2 cortina alternator (the series 2, late 1968 to 1969 had them fitted) not sure whats right and whats wrong anyone able to help? SYKOV6
all of those alts are suitable dude im using a mitsi one as the wiring is a bit simpler but had to make a custom mount. get one off an esky bolt it on take the car to a auto sparky and get him to change the wiring easy as that simple. L0WMK2
yes but when you stick an alternator in instead of generator you normally have to reverse coil, gauges and rev counter and also do this
SYKOV6
who told ya that bro? i didnt have to change any of that the only mod to the wiring was to bypass the original voltage regulator because the new alt aready had a internal volt reg. if ya still not sure ring up or go in to an auto sparky and ask im sure they will help ya out. if they dont theyre fuckwits go somwhere else
