  2. yea cheers man, will be going to some wreckers on monday to see what i can find. Someone should sell them on trademe with the altezza lsd already in them, for lazy people like myself.
  3. made the gearbox x-member today, Tomorrow is to fill in the tunnel, where it has been cut out. Then modify the cable clutch, and send off to the electricians? Still Need a diff! anything lsd and solid axel. Will shorten if i have to.
  4. took the back seat out today, and wow what a mint ke70 i have. Next Minute... Oh well, out with the grinder And... Gearbox in too easy
  5. Started Saturday with Ended up with So stoked. Fits so mint! Just need to cut some of the tunnel out to get the gear box in.
  6. Striped the engine off the unnecessary parts such as the steering and ac pump. Made some lifting points to attach to engine hoist. and drop it in for the first time tomorrow.
  7. love it, so clean, wish my gx71 was that little bit older and had the fender mirrors
  8. Its xmas, now to get it in there.
  9. ordered a engine, should hopefully be here very early this week. Also received the donation of some rims today. Just what i wanted, plan is to widen the outer lip, for an overall width of 9-9.5 inches, powdercoat in white or maybe black. and stretch on some decent tyres.
  10. So picked up mx5 rear diff and subframe today. And it is not even close to fitting. Would have to cut quite a bit into the back seat and chassis to work. So I am after a ae86 diff I suppose. Cheers
  11. Also since it has no room for mufflers or evan exhaust underneath, Im thinking i will run lake pipes, and was told that turbos muffle the exhaust note by quite a bit so was thinking twin turbo the v6?? Would be a really simple very low boost setup with no intercooler?? + = ???????
  12. Nope not Steve's lol. Im considering buying a 1uz, trying it in this to see how it fits. and if it does not look like a easy fit keep it for the cressida?? Chevys of this era only came out with 6 cylinders tho so the v6 isnt so bad
  13. Finished sanding the doors, boot and hood down; ANd started painting, love the colour; Next -Get the Fenders and hood sandblasted, then paint them too -Make some body to chassis mounts -And start to assemble back together.
  14. Did some work on the mould for the spoiler today. Sort of a test fit to see how big it will look on the car;
  15. they are 195/60/15 on a 15x8 and came factory on 195/65/14's, the tyre shop kept the same rolling distance between the 14's and 15's when i got them. just waiting for them to wear down, and will get some 185/55/15?? not selling they wheels, its only a daily.
  16. Yea mate i'm a draughtsman at downer. Do you work around there too? with the tyres when i first got it i took it to firestone and they gave me the option of them so my speedo didnt go out, because it is already out by 10km and didnt really want it out by 20km at 100km. have always wanted them smaller since though. Am going to lower it a little more this weekend, try get it to 100mm from 150mm and see how it looks then. Cheers
  17. viewtopic.php?f=17&t=32230 Check Out my post here. Has a photo of what its going to look like. Will be made to bolt up under the valence on the gx71 and replace the tiny factory lip. Let me know what you think? Not sure if it will fit earlier models either??
  18. Started making a lip spoiler for her today after work. Can't wait to get this on and get her lower.
  19. hahaha cheers, opinion on a better set that isnt going to cos me 6 weeks pay?
  20. discusion for viewtopic.php?f=17&t=32230 Cheers.
  21. Discuss; viewtopic.php?f=18&t=32231 Bit bored so thought i would post this up... This is my 1985 Toyota Cressida GX71, brought it just over 1 year ago, in a Completely standard state, with only 100,000ish k's on the clock. Is the snail of the x7's with only the sohc 2L straight 6. A couple a weeks after buying it, I took it to the boys at SSS in Palmerston north and had a pioneer headunit put in and some infinity speakers fitted. "shortened" the springs one night, keeping them captive of course. Brought some sportmaxx rims 15x8 with 0 offset (i know they are not jdm and arnt auctually 3 piece, blah blah blah, but they are cheap, are the size i want and i like how they look, plus i can give them a beating and if i break one can pay less than $200 for a new one.) Added a boso/drift inspired exhaust tip. And driven all over the north island since. Cheers...
  22. Yea, still have a few Ke70 spoilers siting in the garage, or did you mean for the cressida? thats coming soon.
