  1. na i am good man, thanks any way got me some ages ago , have re kitted them and got new rotors etc. . . but i am thinking that i will have to sell them anyway they just look to small to be honest. the total weight of the car is going to be very close to standard but the acceleration is going to be tripled so not sure what the certifier is going to say . Your cert dude will just be doing stops from 100kmh so the extra power wont matter. Also most of the old jap wheels dont allow for calipers that stick out past the hub face so you need to take that into concideration when going to Nissan stuff awesome that means I can keep my gx71 brakes. than do look nice . and means I can keep more Toyota parts on my car and less of everything else. ha ha ha
  2. na don’t need to make from scratch, i am just wanting to modify the factory one so when i am sliding i don’t starve it for oil. i haven’t ever build or modified sumps so just looking for any info and or question and answers from people who have done it sorry for the huge spam of answers, haven’t been on the computer this week and I am unsure how to answer all the questions in one go
  3. "Build thread MarkII 'mk2' viewtopic.php?f=17&t=29419" <----------- awesome !!! love the mirrors ay. have been looking for a pasanger side one for about a year just cant find it, if you got any or know of any send me a pm please
  4. yeah i know what wheels i want he he he keep that quite until i can find them. And once again I will have to import them so probably going to cost a few grand . as for brakes i was planning on using gx71 ones they are a bit bigger than the ta63 ones, but i don’t think they will cut it to be honest, mate has set up his corona with r33 brakes . but not sure just yet , will have to talk to certifier about it see what they say. i know that you have done allot of brake work on your 2 door , what have you settled with ??
  5. Thinking about doing quad oil control hinged doors in a diamond shape, haven’t done allot of research into it yet . more just talking it out with the boys . need to understand how oil acts in the sump as its viscosity is so different to water making the doors act how i want will require some mucking around So hopefully I shouldn’t need to re design the whole sump . wanting to just add hinged doors and hope that keeps me going

  8. yeah bro am taking pictures every 30 seconds then my flatmate is editing them so it flows nicely , should be cool when its getting closer to finished so can watch it from start to finish in one movie
  9. This is my discussion topic. First thing i am interested in talking about is sumps. i have been looking all over the place to find pictures and information from people who have actually done and made successful 1uz sumps . Have been reading all over the net that 1uz are bad for running bearings due to oil starvation But I am yet to find any good hard advice or designs to adapt to my build, any advice or information would be greatly appreciated
  10. Have got my mounts tacked in place I am using 8mm plate and will be hitting them with the welder once i test fit the motor, want to make sure its sitting in the right place before i demo it with the welder and make it imposable to get off .
  11. So got a link storm of a awesome man down the line . Was very nice and give me the igniters for free . It was running on a twin turbo 1u . So has 90 percent correct loom . Will have to buy the injectors of him or swap the plugs back over to stock ones. Haven't decided on that yet. This weekend is all going to be fabrication .mounts and throttle adapter . And if i get a chance will try get some welding done too
  12. Discussion thread > //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/32064-ta63-carina-with-a-twist-discussion/#comment-849236 am not much good at taking pictures and making a huge write up , so just made this instead ta63 carina, 1uz + charger, manual w58, trd 2way diff , link ecu to come next week started this build about 3 weeks ago, am just up to the mount making bit, still allot to do but the work list is getting smaller and smaller each week. Hard bit is going to be saving for paint, am keen to do the rest of the build in the garage any way check it out .
  13. thank you for that , i finally got into the garage today and ripped into it, got the engine out of the way and got to the rack , pulled it out and cleaned all the crap of it , i now understand what you are talking about. Unfortunately i bought the rack along long time ago in preparation for this conversion and i didn’t keep the contact details, but i will be trying any brackets i can get my hands on. And failing that I will pop down the road and steel the ones of a mates car and take them to an engineer see how much it would cost to get them made. As it is proving rather difficult to find.
  14. Yes I am trying to sort out the power steering rack so I can move on to making the engine mounts. When I got the rack I didn’t know that the mounts were different, so I didn’t ask for them and now I need to get some. I have come across a ma61 Celica supra that has power steer and was thinking that it may be compatible? , easier to try fit the cross member rather than cut of the mounts and weld them to the ta63 cross member? But are you saying that the cross member stays the same and it is the "bolt on metal strap" that goes over the rack that is different??
  15. need to know if a ma61 and a ta63 cross member are inter changeable. will the ma61 cross member bolt into the ta63 ?
