Bit of a bump on this thread.
Anybody brought one of these cheap 2 post hoists lately?
How good/bad are they?

That would be 300% more fun than parking in a carpark and looking at mustangs

Not all Mustangs are bad - just the ones made after '72

Last time out at Hamptons resulted in an unrepairable crack in head (Water jacket to oil gallery behind Cylinder 4 - fark!..)
Decision time. Source another second hand head, spend $$$ on crack testing, machining for big valves, porting etc just for it to happen again being 40+ years old or bite the bullet a get one of these from Burtons
Still heaps of $$$ to spend on machining but ....
Any thoughts people?

Just got off the phone with my mate Dan from PS Automotive in Pukekohe.
They work on the older Fords in the area, specifically GT Falcons.
The Boss is a Ford nut and knows his way around a Ford V8.
They're happy for you to go in and have a yarn about what you want done and advice etc.
Hey thanks for that. Will call in next week for a yarn

Planning on giving the mustang a birthday soon and want to get in touch with a reputable engine builder before yanking the motor.
I'll be doing a reasonable amount of the disassembly/assembly but want the guidance of an expert while doing it.
Not looking for mega horse power just a nice street build.
Who do you recommend (preferably South/East Auckland/Franklin area)
Thanks in advance.

I cant get my head round it either , looks like the daily will have to give up its suspension to pass the cert...
What are you going to do about yours mfordy to get it road legal ?
Kinda hoping that LVVTA will have a change of heart (heard some whispers about case by case basis) but I'm not holding my breath.
Not to worried about making it road legal yet as the mustang is a bit more family friendly...
By the way, your Mk1 looks awesome - get it finished!

Yeah Cheers sheepers , Ive heard about this, still don't understand why but Ive already done it and Im booked in for a cert with Clint in August so we can work around it then. I have since made some more adjustables for my daily car but didn't put the gussets on them. If it becomes a major I can always swap out the ones from the daily car. Weird thing is I know of a few cars that have been certified with gussets and others that cant pass cert because of the gussets. When did that rule come in to effect ?
Can't get my car certified for this reason. Spoken to Clint and Mark about it and LVVTA are adamant it's a no go even if completed by certified welders.
Been involved with circuit/rally escorts for years and I've never seen a stub fail
