Ok so I now have the escort diff out...Think I will get the leaves reset while they are out and maybe get some new shocks too just to save from later maintenance Escort diff (top) vs RX3 Diff (bottom) Took Escort diff apart to find I had blown ANOTHER diff so I think it will be going in the scrap metal pile :S Took my RX3 diff apart to try find out what was blocking it...Havnt found anything yet but its definatly too tight, a plate at the bottom was dented and that was stopping it spinning so I got that out and it spins now but is still a bit tight...I will have another closer look tomorrow RX3 and Escort diff are at the engineers now getting sorted so I can bolt the RX3 one in and hopefully keep my swaybar mounts will find out next week sometime once it is finished

QUICK LITTLE UPDATE... Been hard at it the last couple of hours...Got the RX3 diff apart and found the diff wont spin?? Will have an inspection of it tomorrow to try figure out whats wrong with it but have the feeling the last owners gave it a bit of abuse :S...Want an LSD for it anyway but was hoping to drive round on the open diff for a while so I could save up for an LSD...O well will see what happens Next on the list I think will be to get the escort diff out and measure it up with the RX3 one :S fingers crossed there wont be much modification to get it to fit

Got engine out with a bit of spillage :S but got it out non the less Took my cross member to work and cleaned it all up just have to take the old engine mounts off just to make it look a bit tidier when I put it back in the car. Also got some new steering rack boots while there out! Next Im going to take out the diff and measure it up against the RX3 one to see how much modification its going to need to put it in the escort..

Ok latest update... So been busy over the last week getting the engine out, but finally got it out. Its a bit of a mission to get an engine out without anything to lift it with so just had to drop it out the bottom. Got the cross-member and steering rack out which are both in need of a good clean up. Going to cut the old mounts for the engine just to make it look a bit cleaner then Ill give them a good paint up Also got an RX3 diff which hopefully wont need too much modifying to fit in. It will be heaps stronger than the escort one as I already blew 2 escort diffs with the cortina motor in :S New dash too. Got the one without the tacho for the more oldscool look. Next on the list of things to do will be to clean my steering rack and cross-member and Im going to save up to get my wheels so I can get it off the axle stands and rolling around again

Have started to really start to get into it now. i have bought an RX3 diff which hopefully will not require much modification to fit in. Old engine/gearbox is out, just need to start taking the rear end out to see what will need to be done to get the RX3 one to fit. Also bought a MINT circle headlight grille

Started stripping the eskie today. Took of the front grille and lights as I want to switch to the round headlights to give it that more old school look. Going to start stripping the engine down tonight ready to take out. If anyone wants to buy any of the parts just PM me and we could sort something out. Next on the list once the engine is out will be to get the 13B in and mounted up so I can start working out how much room I will have for exhaust, radiator ect.

Thanks for that I decided I want the car to have a mixed Euro/Jap/JDM/UKDM style to it so I have started 'sticker bombing' my passenger rear quarter window..I think it looks nice Next on my list is to start stripping it down and to take out the old cortina motor and gearbox and maybe save to buy the wheels I want for it. Again these feels are going with the whole Jap/Euro scene.

In the begining...Mk2 Courtina 1600, Lumpy cam, Side draught Delorto carbie, Extractors ect... Bit of fun before I put the new engine in The new engine to put in...13B Bridgeport with 12A front...Going to put IDA set up for the intake but havn't sorted out all the details yet, going to plan as I go and see how it works out
