Looks good. Nice manifold. Were you in Albany last weekend?
-
Nice work! Is HPC doing your acid dipping and powder coating the inner fenders etc?
-
I heard many people have died due to them rolling over so easily but it might have been urban legend.

Engine. 302 Windsor, 30 thou over, mild cam grind with stock heads. Basically its a completely rebuilt stock engine save for some mild porting, over bore and mild cam grind for a bit of character in the idle. I also have a rebuilt C4 to back it up. Wade Engine Reconditioners in Penrose did an awesome job machining the engine at a very good price. Highly recommended.

Im looking at "olds gold" for my engine. Alot of guys on the HAMB have used it and reckon its good. Guess I will find out for myself in time!
-
Its just a single pack enamel so no isocyanates on the MSDS, good ventilation and a mask rated for paint fumes (charcoal canister style) would do the trick.
Not really up with auto paints so will I get better results painting (brush) this in a hot or a cold temperature? ie. oil based paints like warmer temp as it flows better as opposed to water based which is better cold.
-
Cheers I will check it out. I know the place. The guy from the auto paint place in Penrose must be taking the piss at $120!
-
Cheers Spencer. I found some on trademe for $68.

Hello.
Looking to buy some por15 gold engine paint. I'm going to brush it on. Been told I'm looking at $120 for 500mls. Can anyone recommend a good vendor or have any experience either way on this product? Will 500 ml do a 302 and C4?
Cheers.
Andy.

Cool. All I care about is that it goes on a bike and not on trademe. And not on a bike that's going on trademe.

no ken but my daughters have quite a few barbies! The seat is tidier than I thought. It's a viscount HI03. It has healing aero but it's faded. I also have a black gt seat which you might prefer. I will post pics when the kids get off the computer.kenFish Lips is not included. He's to awesome.
-
^ seen those seats. But he wants like 50 plus shipping so yeh nah. Will wait till i find cheaper.
i think the front rim on my blue healing is the same. except rusty. I have bought another chrome araya rim to match the back but i needa put a new hub in it.
I have a blue seat. Its yours if you want it. Its not perfect but its right for your bike and its free. Can post pics tonight.

Tims a gc. Does good work and knows bmx. Thats who I gave the pantha mags to. He also acts as a collection point for a chrome shop in Hamilton. They did the forks for my bully.
-
Kenda has released skin wall freestyle tyres. Look alright though a bit fat. Are you using Tim at procoat for your powder? I highly recommend his service.
-
ok. All your jobs are to find out where I can buy a decent one of these pipe benders without spending millions of dollars.
i like quality
I plan on building some motor bikes in my time. Might was well fucken buy the damn tool.
I dont know your budget but we use one of these commercially with good results. About $950 list but if you are keen I could look into it further.
-
all the quality benders ive used have dies that are very accurate to the dia of the tube. Might need to make a dirty great form tool lol
-
Love it! Always wanted one and should've got one when prices were resonable in the 90s. What are your plans? Wheels, engine etc? From memory there were chunks of polystyrene stuck in the rear quarters for sound deadening and that trapped moisture which lead to rust. I would save and get quality repairs as that's a high value car.
-
Andy, a new Pantha and a mk5 Cortina? You lived the dream.
Bike was second hand when I got it. The amount of turtle wax I stuck on that bike it's probably still shining somewhere! When my father got the ford it had angel hair or white shag pile on the parcel tray. Sweet!
-
Think I sure those awhile back. Im after a matched pair. May need to import. Pantha was a sweet ride. Would like to still have. Brother has an hmx 600, blue, tufts and pads etc. is in bits with all of parts. Will get pics. I think I still owe valiant some pics of his Pantha cubs so will get those as well.

Bully at the top which is now in powder and waiting on spray for the front. Forks re-chromed. The goose came from chch and after looking for decals to restore to OG for 3 years I gave up and im setting it up as a daily for my daughter. Just need a pair of silver 36 spoke hubs with 3/8 axles and its done... anyone? The last pic is me in 82 on my pantha.
-
Yeah they are nice to hang on the wall. I only gave them aWay as a gc I know was building a Pantha for his son and I will probably never own another Pantha. There is still a surprising amount of those wheels still around also. My current builds are a 89 bully bash guard and an 89 mongoose California pro.

I used to have a pretty good condition one of these, same colour and err thing.
Got it when is was to small to even ride it.
Over the years, not realising what i had or caring, some broken worn parts were replaced with what ever.
Sold it couple years ago for $600 cash after it sat around not being used.
Kinda wish i kept it now, id had it for probably close to 15 something odd years
IMO the coolest bike ever made. I had one too. Did you sell it to a guy named Paul?
-
I have no idea what they are worth, cant find any on trademe/ebay/the net in general and wasnt planning on selling them, but make me some kind of nifty offer i guess
$200 provided they are tidy. That's what a nos set went for last year. I gave a set away last year.

you can buy a bike tube kit if you have a ask around. Gives the headset tube and bottom bracket with flanges etc. From memory pipe has a seam and tube does not. Sounds like you used a 'crossbow type bender. As said earlier, you want to be drawing the tube around the die not ramming the die into the tube. I use a Stauff bender or swageloc benders on smaller stuff. I used a dodgy home made jobby for my trutest. Came up nice but required alot of beer and swearing.

Did you get a repair cert before commencing body work? It's something I'm looking at now. Maybe blue with that 70s brown/tan/orange colour interior... Or black.
