Palmside definitely are the biz for that stuff! Will definitely be getting in contact with them for advice and whatnot
Will be probably going wilwoods for the brakes.

I feel like me replying is like being very late to my own party!
Have learnt to love the little pimp limp it has to the right - once the big build gets underway it shall hopefully be no more!

Another year older - another wiser(?)
Getting some things actually on paper about the build to make sure it happens! Now with a wicked full time job to help accomodate the hardest part of the build - time to get into it!
New direction for the Escort:
SR20DET
S15 5 speed
Bilstein adjustable coilovers /camber plates
Adjustable rear shocks and as low as possible in the back
Drop tank+ surge
Wilwood 4pots
3" straight exhaust
14/15" widened steels
Unsure what to do with diff
Pretty flexible about most of it though - will be needing a bit of help with suspension and braking but the oldschool community rocks so have no fear about that
Please let me know opinions/better, best ways to do things - I appreciate all feedback!

Girlfriend had mentioned a wicked looking left-hook BMW she had seen around - the very next day it pulls up at the lights and the guy points at his back window - oldschool spotted!

After an extended period of problem free driving, shit hit the fan all at once.
Gave it our best shot to figure out the problems: Being unable to turn the idle or mixture screws down, mixed with a sticky throttle, turned out we found a split after the carb causing a vacumn leak.
But that was the limit of our knowledge.
Took it to Roskilda Autos and within 4 hours he had a list of faults and repairs.
The list included:
Vacumn leak,
Bad points,
Condenser replaced
A few hoses replaced
Alternator connections replaced
He also rejetted the carburettor to only run single carb until it hits a certain rev range then kicks in the second for maximum fuel efficiency.
Have been told to only run 95/98 fuel as it is completely racecar-spec :lol
Idle and mixture have been professionally tunes
Being "Roskilda Auto LTD - DYNO Tuning Specialists" he put it on and it ran a nice 80hp / 5,500RPM
$$$ later and She's got her umph and lumpy idle back
Decided for a little change in plans, if anyone has any Rostyles with some rubber on them, shortened shocks and springs for the front, pm me and we can talk!
-
Thanks for all the suggestions, have decided to just take the carb off and take it apart for further inspection
-
Hey guys,
So I came home last night because it felt like my gas pedal was sticky as it was holding revs when I pushed the clutch in.
After further inspection, neither the idle or mixture screws are doing anything being wound in or out.
Sounds like the choke is out but pulling the choke out causes the usual choke out problems.
Anyone have any clues on what the problem may be? Dirty fuel?
Too dark/inequipt at home to pull the carb off tonight for further inspection
Thanks in advance!

Looks like it could be a good beach cruiser for the summer, couch in the back and all. What are your plans for it?
-
Assuming it meets all of the wof criteria (http://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/motorcycles)
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do something with it. Not sure how you would go about getting it into the system with a VIN or anything like that though!
-
Parents had an XR6T '03 BA Falcoon for years, swore by it. Have "upgraded" to a '12 FG XR6. Seems to be a downgrade, but they're happy and it certainly meets all of the criteria.

Only reasoning for electric windows was because people in my car keep breaking the window winders and I'm running out of spares.
Central locking and an alarm are definitely on the cards. Any luck with Tardem-spec alarms, project isn't quite taking #1 priority at the moment, but surely something is better than nothing!

Hi guys, I know this thread is a little old, but I believe the information is still relevant and could help people!

Hey everyone,
Was wanting to potentially install some electric windows, central locking etc in my Mk2 Escort, was wondering if anyone had done it before, had any suggestions on TM links people have had any luck with.
Im sure there was a thread on here about something similar previously but no luck in searching for it.
Thanks in advance

Do you mind if I ask a rough price it cost to rewire the mk1?
-
Looking at getting someone to professionally require my mk2 escort as it has been giving me numerous troubles! Also I figured new wires would be a bit of an upgrade!
Does anyone have any previous workshops they can vouch for? Suggestions around palmy area and maybe a estimated cost?
(Obviously) has no ecu, so is pretty much just lights, dash, alternator etc. nothing overly complicated

First movie I've been to the cinema to see in ages, rather enjoyed it! Jensen interceptor was wicked. Non car enthusiast friends loved the look of the escort, didn't feature enough though!

Thanks for the replies guys!
Just after a standard set! I'll be sure to give bnt a call when they open

The old kent is ready for a rebuild, anyone have any recommendations on where to get a full gasket set
Thanks as always guys!

I'm quite keen to jump on the next exciting bandwagon, downhill gravity bikes or something that doesn't cost a fortune but has the wow factor!
-
Has anyone build one of these? Look like heaps a fun, but I have no experience with any of this.
Any suggestions on where to start? Possible parts and such?
Any YouTube links of OS gcs hacking one of these downhill?

Loving the look on the middle photo, anyone know who's it is?/ know specs or anything?
-
It's been shopped to how I would like it to look, not to impress others. Simply asking for a second opinion is purely out of interest!
The photo has been shopped to have 2" blocks in the back and a 3" drop in the front. The obvious concern is the turning circle without having to pump the guards
