  1. Cheers mate, when I took the charger out I didn't even see the craddle there, just taken off it off now.
  2. lol I'll get to work on it tomoro asap, it's depressing having it there and not running Again.
  3. I'm not at home atm, but I told the mrs to put some fresh gas in and crank it lastnight as she's at home, and still got no splutter or anything. I have tried pouring a little bit of fuel in the carb and cranking and still got nothing. Yeah I do have decent spark, I do know my timings not set perfectly but it's within 2-3 degrees of where it was when it was running. O well I'll be home tommorrow and I have no work so I'll investigate some more when I get back.
  4. I am getting strong spark on all plugs. It was running absolutly perfect before I had all the sludge run through my lines. When I started building the car up there was no coil, engine, subframes etc. It's running a non ballasted ignition system.
  5. Coil, points, dizzy, plugs have done a total of 1700km so far, so all is new. Points are set correctly. It would be good to get it going cos I need to take the Jeep off the road for a bit to do c.v'z and the mrs isnt all too keen on walking (and neither am I).
  6. YAY!!! Someone else is using the same S/c as me! I need a bit of info on mine, which of the holes on the bottom is the oil feed? Is it the one in the middle? Also how hard is to pull apart and put back together?
  7. I'm changing over to elec ignition in the next week or so, just waiting on an ignitor from a member on here.
  8. Tryed tow starting with the Jeep, and still got no start.
  9. It's actually not starting at all now after I replaced fuel lines and cleaned tank etc. I'm running single Hs4.
  10. I've checked my spark and points etc and everything electrical is wotking sweet. I'm not currently at home atm.
  11. She's still not starting, do you reckon stale fuel would be causing it to oerfuel like this? I've changed needles, changed float valve, this is doing my head in, the bastard just does not want to run!
  12. Dryed the carb, leaned it off and cranked it. There was less fuel sitting in the carb but it still doesn't want to fire properly (at all). Yanked out the spark plugs, theyre soaked in fuel, so cleaned them and I've got heapsa spark. Went to start cranking again and my battery's dead again so once again waiting for charger... FML
  13. Mixture is sitting where it was when the car was running last week, I'll go lean it right off and see if I'm still getting the same thing.
  14. Ok so Battery is charged, still no starting and I still have fuel all through the carb. I'm tossing up weather to change the needle over, but it was running perfectly before with the needle that I put in there. What do you guys reckon?
  15. Just took apart float valve, was nothing in there but gave it a wash and a blowout with the compressor. I also went and leaned the mix right off and went to go crank the engine but dead battery, so waiting for batt to charge.
  16. Last week my mini decided it only wanted to run on 2 cylinders, so i spent hours messing round with my ignition and timing before noticing that my reasonably new fuel filter was basicly solid black and the fuel that was going through it was a dark brown. I took apart the float chamber and there was literally half an inch of sludge in the chamber. (Keep in mind that I have only had the car running for 1000kms or so since full over haul). So I took out the fuel tank, fuel lines, carb and manifold out and started drowning things in meths. Replaced filter, and fuel lines and gave the carb and tank a thorough clean. Put it all back together last night and now I have copious amounts of fuel in my carb/manifold. Anyone got any idea why I'm getting all this fuel building up?
