And luckily I tried cranking it by hand before I even wired up the starter, but it definatly felt like valve on piston.

Shot 4 pics.
So going from the cam timing pics, at TDC on right revolution. Should the 2-e timing mark be at 12 or is it at the 9oclock position?
-
I think the last person who done the belt on the engine f'ed it up cos' I can only get a half revolution out of the engine before it stops turning.
-
Howsit guys, doing cambelt on a someones corolla tomoro and was wondering if anyone knows where the TDC/Timing marks are on the block, crank and cam? Pics would be primo.
Shot.

Cheers guys, on the hunt for an hif44 now lol, Don't suppose anyone has one?

ihi supercharger im guessing?
runamuck might know if they like fuel/draw though or not, ive never looked into it
but 5psi from that blower on such a small engine would really not need an intercooler
I'm thinkning about going for the smaller Eaton m45 ae, the IHI charger is just a fair bit too big to try jam into the engine bay.
I had a guy on here offer me an m45 for the IHI so I'm just waiting to hear back from him.

why the hard-on for a blow? suck thru eliminates the issues no?
Wanna run i/c, and I don't really like the thought of compressing/spinning all that fuel around...
-
You need an HIF44 off a metro dude, anything else wont work at all. True story, any Metro will have one, then change needle using the old one as a base then going thinner till you eliminate flatspots. Use one of the many online calculators to eliminate guesswork with needles and it will work a lot better than rolling road plus cheaper.
Are all the hif44's suited to boost?
-
there are a few ways to do it
one way is to seal the carb in a presurized box/boost pressure but thats a pain in the arse
the other way is to select appropriate bike carbs and modify to suit
So am I predy much shit out of luck if I want to use an S.u for blowthrough?
-
I am looking to do a blowthrough set up, probably should've added that. I do have David Vizards 2nd edition book but can't find anything on setting carbs up for blowthrough...
-
you will need a rising rate fuel pressure reg as you will need to keep fuel pressure higher than boost pressure
Yup i know that. I was wondering what mods I have to do to the carb itself?
-
Also what will I need to do to the carb to run boost through it?
-
Just wondering what you guys reckon about putting boost through an hs4? Should I just use the 4 or should I go to something bigger? I'm only looking to run 4-6psi through my 1380 A-series?
Edit : This is in a blow-through set-up.

does yours look like it needs stripping?
would advise against it if you can avoid it, i discovered (after i tore it open) that new parts are not availible
so its modify to suit generic bits or get replica parts made up $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Yeah I have red over and over again in other forums that there are no factory rebuild parts etc. Its a bit oily in there, I didnt have any problems with the s/c when it was in the eunos e.g not burning oil etc. Its a mission trying to think of somehow to mount it in the mini engine bay though.

New set of plugs and she's running better than before, just waiting on ignitor for elec dizzy and I'll be happy for a week or so lol

Fuckin a! Car is running, thanks to Mark (goindf), GC at least owe him a box next time . Main fault did turn out to be shoddy spark, it had spark but plugs were getting fouled to the days. Just took it out for drive up n down the col-de-sac still doesn't like load but she drives!!!
