  1. No problems, am happy to do something different and they will look cool!

I will make a start on the digitizing soon, will be a few hours digitizing, can you send me a nice big JPG, big enough so you can 200-300% zoom it and its still clear, the process of digitizing is all manual, I literally hand trace around it, then put in flow points and start and finish points.. Need some beige fabric, have a few meters of white and charcoal.

Should I aim for say 18, will do 12 to start and have extra fabric ready to go anyways..

  3. In context so I don’t sound completely arrogant, I have an embroidery company and have done embroidery for 15 years. At $8.00 they will not be flash, that is good value though and at say 20,000 stitches on a single piece of cloth achievable, it just won’t look that great and we can do something way cooler!

Mine will be made with three layers of material and will have over 50,000 stitches, they will also be sealed and fusible meaning they can be heat pressed onto garments and will have structure, I sell similar type patches to grown up bike gangs at three or four times the cost and would be doing them at cost at $25.00.

  4. The project headed by Les Triplettes de Bonneville aims to celebrate the car’s 50th anniversary with an unlikely version of the Renault 4 F4 on the legendary salt lake at Bonneville in the USA, in August 2011

  5. Hmm yea a Older toyota gig would be sweet, if its open to all it will likely end up a big Caldina/ae101 event

Would be cool to see it open to all, would like to see the line up or in sections oldest to newest.

Keen to see one of these also. Must have the mandatory Toyota enthusiast TRD sticker somewhere or just RACING DEVELOPMENT across the windscreen, even if its an automatic 1.5.

  6. Ok, so seems that we like the cruise out to kaiaua idea.

So heres the details. If they are universal accepted ill make a new thread to advertise it.

Sunday 4th September (2 weeks after bike summit)

9:30 - 10 am: Meet greenlane countdown car park. Get snacks/nibbles beers for the drive.

10:30am: We will cruise out through clevedon, kawakawa ways for more scenic-ness

Fish and chips out there for lunch

    http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?q=kaiaua& ... 6&t=h&z=10

Toottoottimmay has suggested we can get a lush deal at miranda hot pools for swim and lunch. If everyone is keen on that then we could pass through kaiaua and carry on to hot pools for lunch. $20 each for that or similiar. Deal would need to be finalised.

Save the kaiaua fish and chips for summer dayze?

    - The other thing i was thinking is get as many dailys left at home as possible. Load up the OS cars, lighten individuals gas bills, have new cats to yarn with.

    so? disscuss

    Sounds good to me.

If we all meet at Greenlane we can head to Clevedon Via Botany South, then Whitford, would be much smoother and open for our older steeds and cruising past Maraeti is always nice.

The deal at Miranda is a pass to the Hot Pools and a feed, the food is great, as good as the Fish & Chips at Kiawa these days, Kiawa fish and chip shop was sold to new owners years ago and the award winning fish and chips went out the door, TBH it’s more a novelty thing these days, Miranda is a BYO deal so if you didn’t want lunch you could bring your own Cookie and wash it down with a beer.

    As said lots of parking.

Good thing about Miranda is that it’s mostly occupied by ugly fat locals and ugly fat tourists meaning it’s not all Aucklander Peter Andree type poser cunts all over the show making you feel even more paster man bobbed than you already are, I know this is concern for some people with Hot Pools and the like, myself included, last time I went to Waiwera I thought I had missed the invite to Jersey Shore dress up day.. In saying that, you would not have to swim if you didn’t want to, could just come in for beer and a laugh, they have in inflatable tarp type bouncy thing you could jump on.

Maybe Hamilton people could come up?

  7. what route do you take getting to kaiaua, is it the east coast road?

Normally leave from Drury Autobahn, get off at Drury and to head Ponga Road down to Hunua, then head across Jones Road to Ardmore Quary road and then to Clevedon, from Clevedon its out to Kaiawa via the coast, mean drive, I do it at least twice a month just for the hell of it... also Maranda Hotpools are always a nice way to end a weekend.. Cruze home on the highway.

Happy to lead a convoy if anyone wants direction, the roads are not too bad for low cars.

  8. autosol for metals, same as most for polish, though at the moment the escorts gettin a good polish with 240 grit.
    TRUCK%20WASH.JPG

this shit or something like it is one of the only things that makes things white again instead of red in da mines. good shit. :thumbleft:

it's actually rather decent shit. esp if you're a filthy cunt who drives equally filthy cars. took like a million oil and grease finger marks off joe's white citroen with ease that i thought would need a dose of degreaser. keeps my scabby pajero from turning completely gunmetal grey from motorway smut.. chops back that horrible black road philm shit like a bawse.

Does it have kerosene in it Cam?? I found that the best way to clean my mates truck' date=' it had 23,000 bugs and 6km of road stuck to it, has the added bonus of leaving it shinny.

So the general concensous so far is the retail shop favourites. Meguairs, Mothers and ICE.

Has anyone tried Poorboys polishing and detailing products? http://www.poorboysworld.net

I have been using the full array of products for about 7 years now and couldn't find them in New Zealand. At first i used to bring the product in from America but i couldn't keep up with the demand from fellow car nutts so i took the plunge and the outlay $0000's and became the New Zealand distributor. I have just landed the first consignment, a little late because i was going to show it off at the Speed Show in Auckland this weekend. I'm still going however so if anyones interested i will be giving out literature and decals on Saturday about the various products available and where you can find them.

I'm biased when it comes to the Poorboys World products but if you are after an easy to use product, either by hand or directional orbitor which can be used in direct sunlight and not leave any residue but leave a showroom shine you may want to check it out?

And like the products name. Its not expensive compared with to the already established brands. :salute:

Actually keen to try some of that stuff out, lots of the guys in the UK use it, how do I get hold of you?

  9. NXT Wax is lush, was given some and it works well, I was amazed at how lazy it is to work with... You have the idea, a quick wax every wash or second wash just locks in and maintains all the initial hard work.

I just see cleaning and protecting as part of the basic maintenance, just like regular oil changes and replacing shit when it wears out.

Once you have all the gear and a bit of technique its a POS to keep cars looking good with minimal effort, we have three cars and I wash and quick detail all three weekelly in under three hours..

Edit. Cars are indeed for driving, mine get driven as hard as any, they just look clean when they are driving.

  10. After 20 years of detailing and still learning and picking up tips and trying new stuff I have found most brands have stand out products, none can do everything well and a lot of the time its personal preference, I can recommend a few products that are stand outs and staples for me but its mostly what ever is new and available TBH.

Mothers and Meguiars are what I mostly use as I have accounts with both companies, don’t often have to shop elsewhere.

  11. Would have be the public complaining, hell it’s congested enough when there is no race on! Was worth it though.. you could always go to Tepapapapapapapapapapapa.

Hamilton Street race is still quite good, the new V8’s sound fucking mean, battle of the Streets in Paeroa and Wanganui is also nice for atmosphere.. I like Albert Park for the Melbourne GP in March, they always have a few sweet Group A cars on display and sometimes on track doing demos, they had a RS500 vs Group-A SS a couple of years back, the Sierra still sounded fucking cool. They have thousands of cars on display in field race weekend.

  12. Jude Kirk! (now Dobson...)

I definitely remember trips to Wellington as a kid to see the street race too... memories of the sound, and how close you could get to the track will remain with me forever,

There are not enough Judy Kirks in the world today, too many Petra Bagusts. If you re watch the video, imagen she is in the room off camera when porn star Emanuele Pirro is getting his shoulder worked on :lol:

Always liked the look of these, my old man had one new in 94 and I always thought it could have done with springs being removed and some 18” wheels for business trips away.

  13. He has two on order including mine and he would like to do as many as possible in one go if he can.

Amon sticker would have been retro fitted, all AE82's were re tuned for NZ made cars with help from Chris Amon so you could have a sticker on a 1.3XL and it would be a Chris Amon tuned car.

John Davidson knows what the fuck is up.

  14. Cheers for the encouragement Feathersword, wondering if I should lower it or not, it would look better but they ride like crap when lowered and it actually handels quite nice as it is, plus I can load it up with deliveries for work and it wont bottom out. Decisions decisions.

Graham do you have anymore photos of that gold liftback ?

Hi RHM, this is what I have mate, looks like a mint car, I remember a friends dad had one new when I as a kid, he used to drive it like he was Bruce McLaren.

I would pay 5k for this car if it was a 3-Door in that condition, you would not lose money on it if you looked after it and kept it OEM.

  15. New seats fitted a week ago, really happy with the results, can’t beat the smell of new leather, had the door cards done to match, gives it a more “premium” feel IMHO and also brightens up the interior.

Sound system is going well, and the Dynamat is simply amazing, sound quality is great and outside noise has been reduced tenfold, also notable the deadening to the outside world meaning I am enjoying my music at level 11 not the neighbours and potential criminals. Highly recommended product.
