  1. Mine was played for a week or so when it come out, then I realised that to complete it I would have to dedicate 6 months to doing boring tedious and easy races so I gave up.

Having a real racing car is always more fun. Im going to stage three the fuck out of mine and add some NOS .. working and paying for shit is no so much nor is the reality that when you go off you can’t hit restart.

  2. Added a Chanel Z sticker.

Got a new WOF, needed a new Tie-Rod end and a wheel alignment, always fail on those when I take a car to a garage, I’m sure it’s a ploy as is drove fine and still feels the same.

Removed back seats and laid down a black tarp for the dogs to be transported on.

Needs a clean next. Have also been sent a new front lip for it but have not had time to fit it.

have been distracted with my new car. Renault Megane RS250 Trophy

And the race car that has had a few things done leading up to Targa NZ in a couple of weeks.

Fitted this mean FMIC bro, and also removed cats and muff so gonna crank the boost to 30 and see what happens, sounds like a jet now!

  3. Yea my jew ars pot luck invincible all way come up smelling of roses and never sinks mate just had had to swap over... and after 10 years of flaunting the law he was upset with the LTSA that he had to back pay 3 months on a couple of his cars.

You can swap and update online.

  4. Realistically though.

Would do a ground up BMW E30 Tech II Coupe build, would take years and would be top shelf build, nothing extream mechaniclluy, would be all about show and quality, wall to wall buffalo hide, full house audio, low on BBS wheels, smooth candy red paint, would all be in the detail.

Have always wanted to paint something Candy Red 8)

  5. Have used liquid shoe polish on Black worn BMW seats and they come up quite well, hid all the white cracks.

Fibrenew restored the dash in my rx7. The cracks came back after 6months

    Only cost me $50 though

$50 is better than a new dash and a shit load of time swapping it over, I had mine done in my E30 and it looked great, had the steering wheel done to, was $90 all up and looked good when I sold it.

I'm not sure what the longevity is like, TBH I have only had work done on cars that don't get a lot of use, are mothered and are always garaged, I could imagen it would wear out if used every day and left in the sun.

The main idea is to get it looking good for a fraction of the cost of replacement or effort to replace, I know a lot of car dears use them.

  6. Yea but it’s generally accepted that that’s how it is and the competition is pretty much “how much can you spend” so it’s a lot like drag racing!

Looks like Time attack is getting more and more popular around the world meaning tuners will continue to develop nice parts for new cars, and seeing most of these cars are variations of road cars the parts eventually become available to Joe Public. It is win for most of us who buy performance parts.

If we didn’t have crap like this a lot of the Japanese tuning companies would fade away, a lot already are as Japanese performance cars are quickly becoming a thing of the past!

  7. True and very good points, it is a great way to see what you can do without limitations and restrictions, if they started traditional racing someone would ruin it with regulations and politics.

I had a good look at the Mitsubishi Evo HKS time attack car when I was buying supplies from Redline and it was a mean machine, the doors would have weighed 1kg and the attention to detail was amazing, whoever drove it must have been small as I could not fit in it! It’s a great way to showcase/sell parts to their target audience.

I have been on track with the local guy that runs the white evo and it was a fucking quick car, perhaps the quickest I have shared a track with, to get an idea of how quick it is I was on the uphill in a 250BHP Renault Megane at Hampton being passed by a late model 500+BHP 997 Turbo and he flew past both of us as if we were literally standing still!

Was this guy. Was so fast!

  8. I know, would be a crazy concept but I think it could work.

Another idea, now its is pretty out there but i'm sure we all have an imagination, but I was thinking they could use the fastest times to decide where they place on the grid. Now that would be entertaining!

  9. Also Graham, how is the feel of the recoloured leather? Have read of people experiencing a bit of stickiness with redyed seats?

I will bring it to the next meet and you can have a seat in the lush leatherness. If I didn't tell you they were re coloured you would never know, looks the same as OEM and retains the leather new leather smell, I had all of mine redone and had the doors done also.

One thing to note though is that if you recolour say black leather with say red, if/when its scratched black will show through, you don't want to go too drastic a change if you plan on using it every day and being rough with it.

I chose a lighter shade of grey and had them coloured darker so it wont show if scratched..

  10. I have just had two hides recoloured and they look amazing, I used Fibernew, they also do OMFG repairs on leather cracks and the like.

I used the south joker Bruce, he is good bugger and di a great job.

It’s not that cheap but cheap, account for $800 to do your full interior. Still a fuck load better than the $2,750 it was going to cost to have mine redone at RVE.
