  1. Theres a wee push button switch understeering wheel which has a light in it. I think the light is hooked up to the check engine light. It flashes none stop and ive read that it could be ecu on way out will swap that out tonight

  2. So yesterday when I left work I put my foot down in the surf skidded up through first hit second and it kept on pulling so while cold it goes apeshit. After a couple minutes running its back to running like a 2.8.

  3. Oh yeah i had like 14 volts at the ecu. Miss has dissapeared maybe stale fuel? Still feels kinda down on power but runs faiely smooth if that makes sense. Will invest in some plugs and leads when the wallet allows

  4. Wow, the guy is clearly efficient. You checked your new car isn't stolen?... lol

Please tell me you have the rego changed at swap time. I assume so though if he has already borrowed against it.

lol efficient is one world for it. and its got receipts in the glovebox for purchase same name address etc

Finance company wont disclose security amount with anyone other than the 'borrower'

Original owner is your best bet other than stripping it. Dont get caught doing this by the finance company, there has been a couple of cases where the finance company has taken people to court for this and won

Once its changed into your name they often flag up in their system and a repo warrant goes out,

To the guy that would claim insurance, good luck, insurance companies systems now tell them if there is security registered against it, either by you or another party, they will not insure it while someone else has security or a debt against it

BEFORE BUYING OR SWAPPING A CAR DO A SECURITY CHECK, quickest way is to just TXT the rego or vin number to 3463

. and ownerships are all done know I waited till I knew it was sweet for that reason.

  5. Right! back on track after my wee debacle in general talk. I have a surf with a 3.8 in it was running like shite so I swapped out the alternator that fixed it mostly (actually runs allright now).

However its gotta bit of a stumble just off idle like when im taking off which is a right c*%t in a manual, and when the foots down it a bit sluggish. Being a 3.8 in it I imagine it should go like a cut cat.

Also I notice that when the electric fan is on it the miss is more obvious so I just leave it off.

  6. Which was surprising judging by the amount of "twennie" bags in the truck all the department of corrections letters in it and the fact that when i checked for security on it he already had money against my old car less than 24 hrs after getting it so i couldnt even take that back lol.

  7. Thanks for the feedback fellas. Turns out i didnt have to buy another one swap plates and tags and burn it out lol.

Rang finance co today and posed as a passer by thinking about asking the owner of the said truck to sell.

I said i was checking the security situation before approaching him. Turns out he had paid the loan it was used as security for and they hadnt released security yet.

    So im stoaked about that.

And yeah it wasnt worth a hell of a lot but its enough to be pissed off about losing a car and being left with nothing.

  8. On ppsr there are 2 vehicles and chatells listed as collateral. If i wait for a couple weeks then change ownership and they say they want it back i guess i can plead ignorant and say i brought it for parts and now its stripped out. Then strip it hide all the parts and buy it back, thats alot of fucking around though.

  9. Couldve got myself into a pickle, swapped a car for a 4wd and noticed theres security on it. Just considering my options now.

If i change ownership will they come after the car, or will they only go after it if the bill isnt paid

  10. Let me join in too then?

Apply power to sense wire and see if it works better.

That was the first thing I tryed as a mate had a VN in our younger days and the "S" wire had failed/Blown fuse somewhere back the loom.

Im thinking that there isn't enough power to keep the engine running which Is why im thinking alternator.

Just chucked a multimeter on and battery volts are 11.5 so have removed alternator to get checked out.
