this happened today driving to work, nek minnit
not-so-daily-driver
I had that recently in my morris. My little girl (18mths) was in the back seat and said " oooo messy"
after paying for a new windscreen i finally got insurance with glass cover........
-
I finally got a decent deal with swann, $258 a year full cover inc glass. try ringing again, it really all depends who you talk to.
-
I'm sick and tired of insurance c**p! Just called around again swann aa etc noone will cover a daily driver! They all say NAC or Club Auto! Someone tell me who to call?? Please?
-
I'm with Club Auto, about $350 a year for third party fire and theft, no glass cover which I found out when a car flicked a stone up and the screen went into a thousand pieces! I'd love to know how everyone gets such good deals!!! mines a morris 1300 so hardly a theft or boy racer target! I'm pretty sure I'm getting dic*ed royally.
-
I put electronic in my 1300. Best thing I ever did, there a kit on trade me for about $100
works sweeeeeeeee....... super easy to fit.

in 1994 i brought a MK2 Ford Transit Van with my student loan.
2L pinto, four speed. Cheviot turbo mags. and a heap of rust.
yep, mine was with a student loan too. I drew down 4 grand to buy a good car and some other stuff, christmas/new years happened and i bought the morris with the 500 bucks left after the new years from 'nam!
edit- It probably was a good thing that they changed the student loan rules, took me ages to pay it off once I was a bit older and more sensibiler.

1966 Morris 1100 "Big Red" Bought it for $500 bucks and looking back, it was in mint condition. But I had no money and did no maintenance and ended up having to get it towed away to get off $400 no reg no wof fine when it was parked outside my folks place, dead in the water. I felt so bad for years and now I've bought a mint 1300 which I've promised the BMC gods I'll look after. Good times in Big Red though.......

Cheers, I need a station wagon but don't want some boring one.
-
745. Is it going to cost me an arm and a leg anytime something goes kaput? and are they generally any good?
-
I need some opinions/experience/whatever on whether I should buy an 87 Wagon. Cheers in advancey!!!
-
that would be cool if it could be used outside

nah he probably meant one of these.
Yeah like those but the one I looked at was even smaller. Great idea though! Better than a load of white vans/4x4/shitty station wagons for tradesmen and delivery guys.

Livigno? We went there in the tk to watch the world mtb champs. Diesel (and pizza) was so cheap. We went via a narrow mountain pass to avoid the swiss border police as i didn't have a truck licence and they are the one country thats checks everything. Of course we met a huge logging truck on way up the pass- they must take turns to go through. No way two of them could get past. I had to reverse back down till he could squeeze past and i took the bumper out on rocks.
That commer looks awesome! And that dodge firetruck- we almost bought an old one of them for house truck but it had an auto box i was unsure of.
Yeah Livigno! Hot Girls but expensive as fu*k to survive there. From memory there was no cars allowed in town, you parked out of town and caught the loop bus in. I'm getting all misty eyed for Italy.......
-
I was in Italy for a bit (young and dumb, and full of.......) and I nearly bought one of those enclosed scooter/flat bed ute things that are all over the show. They were asking 120 Euros I think, might have been less! I also was up in the dolomite's for a bit and there was a 'no tax' area where it was heaps cheaper to buy fuel. You should have seen the amount of cool trucks passing through!!!

My Morris might not be very competitive, but I have been known to be reasonably good at drinking. What lake is the campsite at? I've got people i know down there too.
