That meet was HUGE!
-
I was gonna roll in early to ensure we get a spot, leaving my place at 9 so will be there by 9.20 or so. Chris you should roll straight there and park up so we can get everyone together.
-
I heard you went down after dinner as a treat.
Yeah pretty sure my cousin would totally be into that...
Incest and icecream don't mix well.

Was definitely the first meet we've had a number of available parking spaces. That being said the burgers were great as always, the yarns as high quality as you'd expect from the likes of oldschool and the after dinner mission to the bay for some icecream went down a treat.

Maybe we can build our engines together!
I suggest pull it apart and see what's in there, then decide what you wanna put back in. Bearings and rings are of course a go, but you can suss options of pistons and cams and stuff after you know if there's anything major that needs repair work.

You got bitten by the bug...

April 3rd.
-
Maybe I should come down and help out at Easter weekend if you're keen?
-
I completely forgot about this, is it something we can/should still donate to for other fundraising ideas or just go back to club donations?

Let us update thee!
Ran flawlessly at the OS drags and managed to knock over a second off last years time, down to a 21.46 at 61mph. I've since installed the new 'ported' head which I also discovered is a 1600 head as the valves are both 2mm bigger than the valves from the removed head. There's a slight inprovement in mid range power but it still tops out at around 5000rpm which surprised me, I'm thinking upgrading the exhaust or at least the suzuki swift rear muffler will improve that situation.
Installed some new headlights which have vastly improved the night time driving situation.
Had a visit to zebra to help EURON8 a few weeks ago and we stumbled onto a cortina with the deep bosskit that my car has been lacking, a quick trip to mitre 10 and back and we had the tools needed to remove it. The steering wheel sits in a much better position and the car is so much nicer to drive!
Today's job was to install the MX5 seats kindly donated by mrjstar and I'm stoked with how they fit. Only a couple of new holes to drill on the factory rails and they snuck in nicely. Seating position is PERFECT and it's dropped about an inch and a half off the seating height.
Of course updates are useless without pics..
Sadly there's still no update on the engine. Just hanging out for a new block that hasn't been bored right out but that hasn't been a high priority cos I wanna make sure I have enough set aside to enjoy nats.
The head is extremely tappity though, and I don't seem to be able to adjust the noise out. The old head was pretty bad as well so I'm thinking the rockers themselves may be pitted or unevenly worn so if anyone has a set lying around please let me know.
Bring on nats!

I have a cam at work (can't remember the specs of it bu tit's got more lift than my A3 cam) if you wanna chuck that in? I can get the markings off it tomorrow if you like and see if it's going to be of any use to you.

Don't open your bonnet then you grumpy old man

We have cards Jim !!
I'll brig some to the meet so you can hand em out to sweet cars you see.
Oh didn't realise that. All good though guys I was just putting forward a suggestion in case you were wondering about possibilities.
-
Holy shizzle I haven't even done my lazy transfer yet. Maybe use any excess to make business cards or something to advertise to suitable potential OSers?

I should get on this bandwagon too cos the horn in my escort is also rather lackluster. Pick a part idea sounds sweet, just go around asking people to honk their horns in random cars till you find one you like, then head along to PAP and grab one. I can vouch for the mazda 3 horns though, the one in mine is pretty decent.

I know how we can make easy money. A PYRAMID SCHEME!
-
Yeah I'll flick some money your way also.
-
With gas prices coming down and an escort that's increasingly lovely to drive I'm gonna be exploring a few roads over the coming months methinks!
-
I saw these on Trademe recently, see if I can dig up a link.

Could well be down for this, don't think I have things on that evening!

Good cruise that was. Was pretty toasty though!

Yeah if today was anything to go by, we turned around and went another way with the traffic backed up all the way to the shops. I find a sweet meeting spot is at the North Harbour Stadium carpark right next to the model track.
Muriwai might be a sweet drive on Sunday.

This coming Sunday? Yeah sounds good to me. Traffic north might be a bit crap cos I'd say a lot of people will be coming back for work on Monday, so maybe we should head somewhere west?

Check under the bonnet, there's a funny looking little cylinder thing behind the front grill that plugs in, this is some temp sensor and with it unplugged the heater will always blow hot.
Dunno about window switches though sorry.
