  1. question with my actual project after having cooling problems with the laser started thinking im going to have to do something with the other car ones, as i cant fit any bigger radiator due to space so requires cutting

    cutty_zpsacb06be9.jpg

would this be fine to do for cert wise and on the track, might also tubbed the guards a little depending on how well the front goes so i can run wider tyres then 205s..

any suggest or comments on whats not allowed would be great

had a bit of fun at Manfeild in the laser was great once i manged to get a full 3 laps, had brake problems at the start the rotors heated up alot and ended up touching the inside the caliper bracket :doubt:

i upgraded the brakes to eunos 800 twin pot calipers and the ae111 rotors been turned down to 260mm should of got another mm taken off instead took a die grinder to the calipers bracket where it was touching at the track got some sweet looks from people well doing soo..

and ended up getting overheating problems with my custom 3 core brass radiator hoping its just not bleed fully, as it would be fine one sec then not the next then fine again was crazy hot tho about 30 degs then had fans on hot to try and help cool it down

was funny how many people thought it was turbo

  3. also a thing to note is if you have a b6d it will have the turbo rods just a little higher comp from pistons so can easy be turbo easy if you want to go down that path

a m3 lip would look really nice on one

  4. wow another 323 person  so whats the plans keep it reliable or going to a b6t ,bpt ,fe3 ,f2t, kf or a kl? depending on how keen you are hahaha

the bpt conversion is always fun , but you should upgrade the brakes if you do that as they are really shit with a 1.8 turbo behind it as said above

  5. found few marks inside the caliper rotor was rubbing on it ,gave it a grind doesn't do it under braking now, instead with speed will have another grind and see if it fixes it .

    wheel bearings are brand new

  6. hey guys recently decide to upgrade my brakes to twin pot eunos 800 ones on my v6 laser

to get it to work i had to drill out the knuckle holes for a 14mm bolt

got 3mm machined off the ears on the hub that the bracket bolt onto so the rotor is centre and 1.2mm off the bracket

and get the ae111 275x25mm rotors lathed down to 260mm

brand new bendix 1326 with the inner edge of the pad grinded 3 or so mm so the pad doesn't over lap in the centre of the rotor

but after doing that i get this noise under brakes its really annoying me as i wanted it done for road and track tomorrow :-(

heres a video to get a idea sorry about the crap camera work was done on my phone "seems" to be coming from the left side the noise maybe warped rotor?

  7. hey alex ive got the klze base map sitting on my desk if you want a copy of it, its not too hard to load the base map on them

ps get a ms2 at least thats what i was going to run with itbs on the kl, but ended up selling as i plan on getting a ms3 with Ms3X expansion V3.57

but if you wait a few months i will be able to get ms products for about retail not these rip of prices that are around 8)

  8. yea sadly didn't think of that at the time as i only thought i would have to get the rotors turned down ,was just a quick upgrade for the daily driver before a cert also these fit behind 15s and maybe 14's soo is quite good

also would have to change rotors most likely if i did a bracket as it would be a very skinny bracket

  9. hey guys

being upgrading my brakes a little with some semi bolt on stuff before a cert

using a ae111 rotors turned down from 275x25mm to 260mm to fit nicely under the twin pot mazda millenia calipers with the rotors just passed the edge of the pad

but after fitting them noticed this

in between the red lines the rotors are tuned down 2 or so mm in the width so about 2mm of the pad doesn't contact it is this ok? will it hurt the brakes much or should i just use different rotors ,would cert guy be unhappy about it too?

    cheers

  10. hey cletus got a question for you not really sure on it and neither was the guy at work

ive got the back seats removed and buckles and belts is that a fail its a 2 door ford laser 90's

and can you fail for a wheel been buckled? also if i get it certed for engine thats in it could i fit my other set of adjustables for cert and put stock lows back in later or would that fail as its not on adjustables any more

    cheers

  11. new daily driver a tow car for the other one :)

shhh 2.5 v6 klze ford laser!

soo on Saturday after work decided to go get it that day, booked the tickets with in the hour got a flight to Auckland from palmy

ended up missing my other flight to Tauranga from Auckland so had to wait for the next flight 2 hours and a bit later in the boring airport made it there

drove it back from Tauranga no wof/reg/cert :| all the way to palmy about 3am on the Sunday

anyway heres some pics started fixing few things on it today and took it for a wof

    SAM_2653.jpg

not too bad of a wof for a car that hasn't had a wof in really 3 years it goes really well with plenty of torque had a great drive on some windy roads yesterday pulls hard :D

anyway plan is to fix it up get it certed and use as daily driver and hit the track in it once a month and the étude will still conclude but more as a full on track car

    lightened flywheel, GTR 4wd clutch

    external coil

Stainless headers, 2.25" exhaust from collectors to muffler, 2.25 out

    2.25" catconverter

    Mazda MX3 subframes , front & rear

Mazda Lantis brakes front and rear

Mazda MX3 brakebooster and new 3/4 mastercylinder , stops on the spot

    Toyota AE111 rotors (275x25)

    close ratio-ish LSD gearbox, max 215kmh @7.5k

only front seats (GTX style buckets) back seats removed

    bg axle, mx3 drivers axle

Enkai RP01 wheels with street tyres

Advanti CPO05 wheels with semi slicks

    and some other stuff

  12. actually have a google or look on the 323f forum, as all the cba lantis have 2l v6 stock in them and most of them upgrade to the klze but surely someone on there has keep the stock kf ecu and afm.

um not sure if i have vaf or ecu still but will have a look, the vaf is different it has b6d written on it..

i did have a ms2 v3 but sold it last week but soon will be in the market for a ms2 v3.5 with 3 coils in wasted spark and klze base map load on ready :)
