I hate XFs. But if I were in your shoes i'd fix it up and say the repairs were historic from when it was still registered.
im not the biggest fan either but it was free with a reconned 4 litre, and it used to belong to the mrs' old man.and that could work, hadnt thought of that option
-
ive just looked into getting a deregd XF fairmont re-regoed.a mate of my uncle who has known me all my life came to see it as his work does re-reging.it has quite a bit of structural rust around the front door hinges.apparently to pass a repair cert theyve got fussy as (expletive),put cameras down inside the areas, the whole nine yards with bare metal once rust has been cut, then new metal welded in yadda yadda.so to cut a long story short i got told its a waste of time trying to put it back on the rd just thought id share the info
-
im out sorry, cortina will be a million bits .....unless i can pass off a u13 poobird as OS??
-
what beer will be consumed??could be keen to come, depending how course goes earlier in the day
-
do tasteful mods and keep all standard bits in a safe place??what i would be doing if it was mine anyway
-
-
ah true,shall upload it now
-
nah its not 3m.i cant find it at the mo(old man moved all my shit in the garage > ),but im 90% sure its called "tape-spec",or something very very similar to that
-
basically the "automotive questions you always wanted to ask" thread v 2.0 .if its simple, ask in here.if its a genuine tech question, start your own thread so the info doesnt get lost in here
so,ill start
will a manual BG5 GTB legacy ecu thats set up to run yellow injectors and orange afm run a motor that has another set of injectors and a purple afm??yes i realise its not OS but im trying to get my wagon going
-
did you get a photo of the purple mk1 escort with the vynil roof?
indeed i did, would youlike me to chuck it up??
-
yup, price ya pay for making them how they should have been in the first place lol.and very true, just about everyone i talk to has either owned or had an experience with a escort or cortina in the past,i can see the value going up on them in the next few years as the ke/kp population runs out and they turn to small fords
-
i got some stuff from RJP a while ago,i cant remember the price but its good shit, holds down the spoiler on the boot of the sport at *slightly* above the open road limit .ill dig it out tomorrow and let you know the brand
-
id go for double sided foam tape, that way it can be removed without potentially breaking it like glue could do
-
i say keep the garnish,IMO it would look odd with no garnish on the boot
-
i had to get the mrs and my mate to jump out for me to get over that and still scraped like hell :/ .mate almost lost his exhaust off the green/blue XB too.and im hoping so,would be a shame to loose it
very nice mk4 by the way,my olds had a sherwood green mk4 when i was kid, think thats why i like them so much
-
trust me,you dont want it that low.did you hit the bump coming down the hill into oxford??i thought it bent the steering, turns out its obliterated two of the subframe bushes .and yeah, oxford was really confusing, all found it in the end though pity next year will be the last one
-
-
Nice to finally Meet you Glenn .and for those that were there,i found the problem with the sport.......subframe bushes collapsed on the drivers side.still not sure if steering is bent though :/ joys of lowered cars ae??? LOL .
-
will be meeting you all at the start or somewhere during the day,and my mates are Bringing just the v8 XB now
-
I'm not sure what comes in the utes/Narvaras/Pathfinders etc
will find out tonight,vg30e powered pathfinder of the old mans, although that has a transfer case attached it may be the same as a 2wd box
-
excellent, might have to take mine to see him for next warrant,or get you to take it lol.and matthew black ae??must be who my mate Josh bought it off,lol
-
LOL
I misread that at first that it was your mrs' 16th birthday
lmao, always one .just so we are clear, shes turning 28 years old on the 16th
-
Should rock hotwires on one side modgies on the other really confuse people haha
I could be keen to go there first although I got to try get my mates rounded up and woken up from the night before so will proably be running late
i have the same issue, mrs birthday drinks the night before, her birthday is actually the 16th though
and Karl,is your cortina still lowered??oh,and bring the pictures of the sport from when your mate owned it if you do attend(please do,i dont want to be the only mkV )
-
new rims= ,now it needs to hit every branch on the lowering tree on its way into the weeds .
