didn't touch it for nearly a year,however recently got motivation back to get it done,albeit in primer.it now has the motor from the ghia in it,and has also been fitted with a sunroof.apart from that the plans haven't changed much,will get paint later in the year and also a new set of rims

Hey Robbie,is there an easy way to tell if a cam has been altered from stock??reason I ask is I have a mystery engine,its based on a Cortina 2 litre but it will rev past 8000 rpm quite happily.i got it with a BHG,measured the bores and it has been bored out to a 2.1,but apart from that its a total mystery.

hey Clint,ive got the opposite issue,seat mounts are wider than rails(in my case,wrx seats in a mk5 Cortina).any special rules around it or anything??I haven't tried getting a warrant on it yet(mid rebuild),have mounted them using 30x3mm flat bar and original wrx and Cortina bolts

hey Clint, I'm sure I've already asked about getting the pinky off my XE I've just bought, but it says on the paperwork inside the window that it has to be certified before it can get a warrant.is this right??as far as I know it was pinkied for sitting on bumpstops at the front, which I've rectified with brand new cobra springs

i have now joined the XE club,picked up a rolling 84 Fairmont on tridents(14x7s unfortunately ),so am transferring all the good bits from the rusty XF skid car into it.will do a build thread at some point .did I mention its an ozzy assembled one??LOL

anyone know how to get the info on WHY a car was pinkied??I just bought an XE Fairmont that's had a pinky fitted(although someone has taken the external part off prior to my ownership),and I cant work out why it got pinkied,all I know to be wrong with it(bought it off an acquaintance) is it has no front suspension travel with a motor in it.it has springs(obviously they've been cut or something),which I thought would only warrant a greeny,not pink

carfreak that was linked to a few pages back has my mark 5 sport on there,picture was taken just before I bought it.look out for the rough as guts primered on hotwires with [LB1686] as the numberplate

I too have a secret hankering for one of these. Sort of like the un cool Rex has become cool. Maybe we all bored of seeing another metallic FB on modgies or a super low FD with all manner of tat glued on that a sweet FC is refreshing.

word of warning,if you chop more than a coil and a half off the rears you will need shorter shocks,i made this mistake with the first lot of springs i chopped in my XF,took 2 coils out=uncaptive as fook.wasnt an issue though as its a skid car,but ive since raised it in the rear on a new pair with 1.5 out and they are captive just
