Just finished putting a 1500cc sohc engine in a Mazda 323 wagon RWD, when i get into high revs i hear a tapping sound, could this just be loose tappets? I tighened a few up and im pretty sure the tapping is quieter but not entirely sure, any ideas as to other things it could be? Also does anyone know the valve clearances for the inlet / exhaust I seem to remeber they are .25 / .30 does that sound right?

Just finished dropping a near identical 1500cc engine in place of a 1300cc engine in a 1985 mazda 323 wagon, just wonmdering if the carby from a 1300 would work or would i need to buy one off a 1500?

Where is the tdc on the camshaft cog and where is it ment to sit at tdc?
