  5. l200 is a 83 and sigma is a FWD one not sure on year. would a hot cam be the cheapest way to get a bit more power out of the l200?

  7. Hi i am looking at converting a Altezza 3S-GE engine and 6speed box into my mk2 cortina. i was just wondering if anyone had done this before? do you guys think it will fit easily?

I did a compression test and the results were: piston one 150psi, two 150, three 135, four 150 pistion 3 seam rather low, So i started it up and took no 3 spark plug lead off and it made no difference to the running. Then i took the head off, the head gastket was fine, the bore was in good condition too. when i was turning the engine over by hand (with the head off) it had a slight hard patch is that normal?

  10. Yep. same thing still happened. It only shorts when the points are touching
  11. It's benn at about 100. I might do a compression test tomoro it should test me if it's a bhg.
  12. I wasn't Evan thrashn it and it got hot. I have a bigger radiator and fan in it now so hopfully that fixs the over heating problem. It was weird how it was running fine after it over heater then it started missing and running ruff. Do you no what temp they should be running at? Hopfully it's just a bhg
  13. Before I cooked it I had it running for short periods of time and it ran sweet. Yes the 1300 pistons have a smaller bowl, I put them in to put that compression up.
  14. Just hardens valve seats, 1300 pistons and cosworth a2 cam. And new bearing ect
  15. Just finished my escort today, took it for abot a 10km drive came home and it boiled. i then let it cool down and started it about 2hours later, it seamed to run ok. Then i took the thermostat out and put a bigger radiator in it started it up now it runs realy ruff. any idea what is wrong?
  16. i have put a bigger radiator in (a 1600 one i think). but now i seam to be having trouble with the spark it is shorting from the hi tension on the coil to the negative.
  17. i have a 1600 xflow in a 1300 escort with cosworth a2 cam, 1300 pistons and i am having trouble with it over heating, i have done the timing with a timing light so its not that. do you think i need a bigger radiator? cheers Ryan.
