  1. Sweet replies guys, I know exactly what you mean about having your job the same as your hobby/passion, but I don't want to do this for a living forever, it's more that I want to learn a bit more and get some experience so that when I do go back (yes i do plan to go back to uni at some point) I can happily study then work in whatever field, and yet still have the skills to do up my cars on the hobby side of things.

Have been thinking about MIT, although Taistorm your suggestion about "Auto colour Matrix" sounds pretty cool, might give them a call and see what the deal is.

And studying law? Hah, I have a few mates who do it, and I gotta say, dayum there is some good talent at Law school, but that aint enough to make me go, and besides I don't think my brain is wired for that sorta thing, better with my hands than my head so to speak. In saying that, if lotto decides to throw me a bone, ill invite you all to my private island/showroom/workshop/race track/gravel forest stage/rallycross course/bar :D

    Keep 'em coming!

  2. Hey guys my names Jeremy, i'm studying at Uni (design) and its pretty cool but I find that I don't get anywhere near as much satisfaction out of it as I do when working on my car... I'm particularly interested in automotive interior/exterior refurbishment and painting that sorta thing, and would be keen to do a course or similar to get some more experience and try find something that I enjoy and am good at.

How many of you on here have done/heard of a course to do with this sort of thing that you would recommend? (I've been searching around vaguely for a while but google can only tell me so much..)

Keen to listen to any thoughts/advice that some of you might have

(Btw i'm in Auckland, would like to stay here but would possibly move, even overseas if the right opportunity is there...)

  3. Yeah id seen those kits (like the pertronix on trademe) but they seem pretty expensive for what they are, has anybody actually bought one of these kits and found them successful or not? May just end up hitting up pick-a-part cos im a cheap bastard..

  4. Hey forgive me if this has been covered before, i'm thinking of upgrading my pintos' points dizzy to electric but dunno what the best way to do it would be, i've read that you can use a dizzy from early sierras, sentra/sunnys, even city/accords... anybody had some experience as to the easiest way to go about it?

  5. Ok guys thanks for the replies, i'm pretty sure that countersunk screw is not there, and I have tried persuading it with a hammer + block of wood with handbrake off ;) to no avail.. they do look like they've been on there for a while so ill have another crack at it tomorrow - had a busy weekend. And i'm also wondering how hard it is to do a rear-disc conversion? And would it be worth it? Its running a pinto with a bit of work done to it atm..

  6. Hey forgive me if I ask some silly questions, only just bought my first esky.. and i've run into a bit of trouble taking off one of the rear drums off (its leaking very slightly) I cant see for the life of me whats keeping it on..(i can take a pic if it helps) its a '77 Mk2. Any help would be appreciated
