  1. Whats the easiest way to remove the drivers and passengers door pins in a Mk2? I've read the top one needs pushed down and the bottom one needs pushed up, but the bottom one is so hard to access because theres virtually no room.. would prefer to not have to remove the whole door & hinges to get at it but that's looking like my only option, any suggestions?
  2. What's this red stuff called? Could be an option
  3. Yeah i'm using a 3,4,5 'tina one, is the sierra one any longer than that? It's heat wrapped too but so was my last one and it slightly touched the headers and melted quick as. Gaz you got a pic of your shield? Would be keen to see how you went about it
  4. I'll post a pic 2moro. But thats exactly what I've done, cable tied it loosely to the drivers side wall of the engine bay, under where brake booster is mounted, but the angle it comes through the firewall is too acute and its rubbing. I could try modify the firewall hole so it comes through on less of an angle but i'm not sure how much that will help
  5. Hey I've got a 2L in my Mk2, but because the headers are on the opposite side to the xflow the clutch cable come through the firewall directly into them. I've re-routed the clutch cable partially along the drivers side of the engine bay (cortina clutch cable is longer than escort one) so that it doesn't touch the headers but its started rubbing through the firewall bung because of the angle it comes out on... Surely somebody must have encountered this problem before? What did you do to remedy it?
  6. Does the standard bosch dizzy on a pinto have a hall-effect sensor??
  7. Does anybody know if a dizzy from a first gen telstar would work?
  8. Yeah id seen those kits (like the pertronix on trademe) but they seem pretty expensive for what they are, has anybody actually bought one of these kits and found them successful or not? May just end up hitting up pick-a-part cos im a cheap bastard..
  9. Hey forgive me if this has been covered before, i'm thinking of upgrading my pintos' points dizzy to electric but dunno what the best way to do it would be, i've read that you can use a dizzy from early sierras, sentra/sunnys, even city/accords... anybody had some experience as to the easiest way to go about it?

    Escort drums

Ok guys thanks for the replies, i'm pretty sure that countersunk screw is not there, and I have tried persuading it with a hammer + block of wood with handbrake off to no avail.. they do look like they've been on there for a while so ill have another crack at it tomorrow - had a busy weekend. And i'm also wondering how hard it is to do a rear-disc conversion? And would it be worth it? Its running a pinto with a bit of work done to it atm..
