  1. ok so this is what happened. i tried to test fit the 4G32 head on the 4G37 block. at camshaft and crank shaft TDC , i tried to turn the crankshaft several times. on the 8th revolution the crankshaft was stucked in the BTDC mark. it can neither be turned clockwise or counter. but the cam shaft was still set to TDC. by this time the 1st and 4th piston should be the one on top, and valves in the 1st and 4th rockers should be near/almost close. im not sure what is the cause of the stuck up. do i need to change timing belt since im still using the old 4g37 timing belt? both has 122 teeth me thinks...
  2. thanks sir fuel. i guess i'll try my luck in bolting up the 4G32 head to the 4G37. i'll just make sure to check that the valves wont hit the pistons. then do a compression test after. what values are tolerable? hope this rebuild would give me time to save up for a 4G63 upgrade.
  3. forgot to say that the 4g32 head was PNP but it seems that the combustion chamber was not enlarged/shaved. still uses the 4g32 valves. PI = Philippines sorry for crashing into this new zealand site http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll35 ... C03813.jpg
  4. well it sits on my 1987 lancer. the lancer originally should have 4g32/33 but it has the 4g37 when i bought it. *weird* the head combustion chamber of the g32 is slightly smaller than the 37 but do not have the kidney shape... i have yet to test if the valves will not hit the piston but will do one of this days.
  5. so 4g63 is the way to go. can i still do this 4g32 head to 4g37 rebuild while saving up for a future 4g63 upgrade? you are exactly correct with the rev issue of 4g37s.
  6. well its an issue here in PI. 4g37 are not common here. we only have 4g33,4g32 and 4g63 that came in lancers and galants 78-87. well im not into too much performance, and tends to have it used as a daily driver with enough power when needed. would you suggest a go signal for this? 4g63 is another option, probably after marriage. LOL.
  7. thanks sir fuel. what setbacks should i expect given that higher CR? pros and cons?
  8. both are belt driven sir.
  9. *bump* how about a 4g32 head sitting on a 4g37 block? will the piston hit the valves? im running on a 4g37 but i have damaged the 4g37 head so i want to use my spare 4g32 head. im not sure if the pistons will hit the valves or will have hi or low compression. what i have done so far is fit in the 4g32 head(without the valves) to the 4g37 block and rotate the crank pulley. so far no problem. but im not sure if i try it again with the valves on. Hoping it would not be hitting each other. Thanks!
