Denham has land north of Auckland?

Statistics can be twisted however you want.
If they 'normalised' the road toll to allow for population (i.e. deaths per 1M people, or deaths per 100,000 drivers) it may tell a different picture.
Also what if you pegged it to fuel prices - when petrol was > $2.00/l the toll went down, now petrol is back to $1.70ish/l the toll goes up. Connection? More car journeys, more poor people driving places, more hammer down speeding because cheap petrol? Who knows.

Thanks Terry

Wow, I haven't updated this thread for 2 years.Things I've done - new tyres, new fuel pump, routine servicing, replaced the harness because it expired. That's about it.I have done a few events, but not a lot. Pretty happy with how it's going at the moment so the turbo 7A has gone on hold. Also there's not a lot running in the 0-1600cc class these days so it's reasonably competitive.OS Drag Day 2015 - here's a video from Markku "Battle of the Titans" (that grin...)Golden Cross Hillclimb 2016Matahi Rd Hillclimb 2016Got a 3rd in class (only 1.2 secs spread between 1st and 3rd so it was close) and 11th overall. Even beat a WRX and an Evo on a damp hillclimb which made my day.Have to sort out the sloppy linkages in the wipers, had to use them a few times and they didn't park nicely and they drift up the screen at speed. Not to mention that they are utterly crap at being windscreen wipers. This video is poor quality because I couldn't be bothered waiting for Youtube to upload 1.3 GB of decent quality video.Next update in 2 years time. Here's the discussion bit -> //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/29131-vivaspeeds-1969-hb-viva-racing-type-car-discussion

Falcon wagons are enormous.
BA is the best, AU is more affordable but pretty ugly to look at.

Who's got the stickers? Neal?

I haven't yet trawled the record collection for the Kamahl LPs.
Save that for next month.

Tapered or shank?
Edit: re-read your post and it says taper.

I'm actually going to be able to make a monthly meet. Hooray.
Also Neal I have a magazine with an SD1 article in it / on the cover for you, it's making my house yuck so I'll give it to you.

Spamming it up but my grandparents had three cars of different ages all with consecutive number plates (B something) when the 'new' style plates were issued.
-
That's cold Niki.
Cold.

I know it is next week, but if it was the next week... i.e. I know it's the 16th, I'm in town the following week.
Semantics.

If this was the next week it would be choice because I would be in town.
/don't change it on my behalf.
-
That's the one.
Though they were vette wheels.
Was it my imagination or did it have a later VK type grill/nose on it?
-
No it wasn't the same as that one that Terry saw.
Plates and wheels were different but could have been on sold since then.

Why have I only just discovered this thread?
Work car, for which I pay no petrol costs averages 6.4l/100km. Mostly because of stupid traffic jams. Can't get it any lower. But then it is a 2.0 and I'm not that nice on the throttle. Has been on 6.4 for the last 5-6 months.
My own car, which I have to pay the fuel bill is up in the 11s-12s/100km but I have seen the instantaneous consumption up around 90L/100km
The rest of the fleet is better measured in litres/year. I probably lose more in evaporation than consumption on those.

I'm out. Work evening things to do.
I'll get to Auckland meets again sometime soon, I promise.

This thing which happened is pretty shit.
Why were they on the limiter thrashing it? Seems an odd thing to do at the location you're stealing it from.
Get well soon blue car.

This car is not about making big numbers on the dyno. I have other cars with 150-360hp so this is about shitty pushrod and carburettor technology from the 1960s.

Oh yeah regarding hills. I shot up the Nelson side of those big hills to Blenheim holding 80-90 right up the backside of slow tourist traffic in my 1159cc no worries and out to 100+ when I got a chance. Had wound lots of advance into it and didn't look at the temp gauge!

I would be happy with 70 on the DCD.
The head is stock apart from a skim but having more compression and a better cam should lift the power somewhat.
I would think with a sidedraught it will get more but at the sacrifice of some drivability. Perhaps.
Oldschool dyno day needed. Anyone cracking triple digits gets sent home...

Tuning woes be gone.
As I said above I chucked on the wideband and went for a hoon.
I have now got the jetting for the DCD carb off a guy with an identical spec engine build so will compare with my current jetting. From what I've seen mine are a bit too small but I think I knew that already.
Jets are cheap and easy to get so will finally do something with it until I can get a DCOE to chuck on it.
*picture less update - imagine some carb stuff and jets etc.
