Keen for this, 18th right?
-
^ as above.
We can all be sick together drinking beers around the bonfire.
-
You can make up a small loom extension with an LED as a 'check engine' light with a switch to bridge the two terminals that Blizzo mentioned. $5 of parts from Jaycar, useful for the future as well if you don't have the diagnostic socket in the loom still.
When mine went wrong, it was a pin on the sensor plug actually loose, not an out of spec sensor.
-
What car is it in, and is it running standard computer and loom?
Do you have a check engine light on?
I had a similar sounding problem with mine which turned out to be a dodgy connection on the water temp sender at the back of the head.
-
I was looking forward to this, but now have all the sickness. Hopefully that can GTFO before Saturday.
Probably shouldn't go drinking and sleeping in the cold.
-
Is this the one from Auckland I am freighting back for you?
Email me the details and I'll make it happen.
-
I'll just grab the Buick instead? More legroom...

Indoor camping would be way warmer and less exposed, but have to wait for everybody to go to sleep.
Ha, just crawl into my tent for sleeping while a party goes on around me.

Sounds like this could be a good way to have last beers with the Wellington guys.
No wagon/van for sleeping in though.
I might come and pitch a tent, I may also put up an outdoor sleeping shelter.

Stop at my place for coffees if it is too yuck.
I may not be there though.

If you only want ITBs, get a Techno Toy Tuning ITB manifold for a 16V.
Blacktop 20v is a good engine, later design, more power - but 20 valves seem to have a great knack of running bearings. Not sure if its an operation/maintenance problem or just an inherent design problem.
If you factor in all the costs of going to a blacktop 20V, you could do some cool stuff to your 16V.
-
You're half correct.
-
Better come along to this. Might be my last Wellington meet for some time.
-
This is becoming a bit of a hand-me-down.
Good to see it go to another OS regular.
-
I think you'll find the problem is Lucas electrics.

Shame we couldn't do a deal on these (still keen on the wagon), but I'll leave it up to you to make a good job of these...
I think a Rover V8 conversion into the Wagon would be the way to go - the quintessential British conversion.

Self ban. Was at workt till 7ish. Excuses excuses
Your excuses are lame. I left work at 6.50 and was still there in good time.

Ban.
Says she who is not attending.
-
Well that seems like a unanimous position.
I think I will go and see AVS.

I'm wanting to put a new exhaust on one of my Vivas and looking for people's opinions on exhaust shops - i.e. the ones to go to and the ones to avoid.
Ideally one around the Hutt would work best for me.
Give me your ideas.
-
When I was playing around with Toyotas this was always the thing to do, dismantle struts, put in new oil and a seal for the shaft, put in a spacer to shorten the stroke, and away you go. Could run different weights of oil in etc. Cannot remember the details as it was 10+ years ago.
Also used to take them to a suspension place just off Moorhouse Ave (maybe on Montreal St?) and there was a guy there that would do it all for $50-60 if I was being lazy.

So with my impending move north I am looking for options for storage and workshop units (i.e. a lockup).
Have yet to decide where we'll be living but will be somewhere central with handy access to the southern or south western motorway - i.e. not right out west or east. Could stretch as far as Papakura as most of the motorsport is south of there.
When I lived in Auckland 10 years ago I rented a terrible lockup in Mt Wellington which leaked and was generally a POS - Trademe tells me they are still available at that complex and have hardly gone up in price which means they must have gone down in quality. I want to avoid a repeat occurrence.
Ideally want double garage size, or slightly larger, a maybe space for a trailer / working on daily etc.
What do others do? - what places do you know of? - what are reasonable prices nowadays?
Not super urgent as its a few months away, but the planning process has begun.
-
Hope the weather clears up for this, looking out my window today I wouldn't want to be hanging out on the beach.
whats the good place for greasy chips and a half cold fizzy can of coke around here?
John's Fish Market on The Esplanade in Petone, next to the white tower block. They only have Pepsi, so no coke... There might be something in Eastbourne but I don't know.

How did you not walk away with the whole fucken shelf of vauxual manuals?
SO MANY!!!!!!!!!!
None that I didn't have already. Laughed at the huge quantity of HA Viva manuals still in cellophane. Probably more manuals there than cars left in the country.
