  1. Datsun spares reply..

    Good Day

At this time we are no longer able to get the part you have listed from or

    suppliers.

The parts listed on the website with a price are in stock at this time.

I also don't sell used or aftermarket parts.

If by chance you find a wholesale source for some new ones I'd be very

interested. We are always looking for new DATSUN parts.

    Cordially, Carl at http://www.new-datsun-parts.com

lame balls. Very fast reply though.

  2. Yea i wish there was a Prince dealership but thats a no go :(

Also on yahoo japan how on earth do I search for ball joints for a prince gloria?

I have enquired with that datsun spares site so will hopefully hear back soon. Internet search doesnt bring up part numbers for anything Prince, seems everyone only cares about skylines :(

Do HPI or Bricon fix them the shit way or do it properly? Cause at the moment if Autolign cant match them HPI sounds like the go for $60 a pop.

And on another note driving six up out of my drive ripped my exhaust off last night so another thing to fix.. grrr

  3. Autolign seem keen to try match them up but to recon them they send to chch so im guessing its the same crowd you suggested before.

Now time to try remove them..

Is two years a decent amount of life?? Im sure the ones on my car are ancient as hell and have only just been picked up in a wof check this morning.

  4. HBI engineering in Christchurch will rebuild them (i got one done a coupe of years ago, was $60ish if I remember correctly). most likely places at other parts of the country as well.

another option is do drill and tap a hole and put a grease nipple in, then pack them up with grease. will firm them up a bit.

Already has a grease nipple and I greased it all before I took it for a wof so that ideas out. $60 to rebuild seems fair. Will hunt for an auckland branch

  5. hey guys i failed my wof in the prince on both front upper ball joints having play and one lower ball joint with too much play. how can i maori this up so it passes or who do i send these off to to get some made/matched up as they are prince items which i doubt i can get new.

    cheers.

  6. Hi all

I removed some rust from my car. and thought didn't need filler.

After primed it, i found few uneven surface probably due to the heavy flake rust I removed.

so should i sand the areas that uneven and filler and then prime it again?

    cheers.

yep unless you want to to still look shit. if its surface rust grind it all away, slap a skim of filler on it. sand paint done. spent most of my day doing the same thing :)

  7. hey guys I can set my idle at abut 750-800 no worries and it idles mint but after driving for a bit it raises up to about 1300-1500. seems to only happen as it gets hot. i use the prince as my daily now so trying to iron out some of the problems.

    engine is a 3.3 vauxhall 6cyl thing

  8. Its wof time again but have a few repairs I need to do main one is an exhaust leak from where the manifold attaches to the head and about 50 other pin holes all over the place.

Spent the last few days stripping the interior of the car and grinding it all back to steel. Surprisingly there was only very minor pitting with the exception being a small hole at the bottom of the accelerator pedal next to a drain bung. Should be a very easy fix if I can find someone with a welder. Have left that part of the floor bare for now.

I then gave the whole interior a going over with a rust treater then nailed everything with por15 so now it looks awesome and hopefully wont have to worry about rust anytime soon. Next step is to repaint the dash the original blue/grey colors and chuck it back in.

I have a few pictures I took while I was working on it but I left the phone to computer lead in class so will have to get that on monday.

  9. Success, she is all wof'd again. Flew through no worries. Only thing he said I might need to look at was a patch of bog that looks a bit poos. Just told me to rebog it or weld a patch in before it gets picked up during a wof.

Stink thing of the day was I went to the supermarket after wof to get some groceries and the inside drivers door handle snapped as I opened the door. Gutted. Lucky got wof first though.

Now to decide what to do next.. Feel free to give some suggestions in discussion thread. //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/36619-daves-prince-b200/

Alright, so have not really done much to the car lately except picked up some stainless wheel trims and painted the steelies black and attached a few missing bits of chrome. Whole car has a chrome on black thing going on which I think looks pretty good. Fixed the gasket between the carb and the manifold as it was not sealing properly and giving a different idle every time i stopped. Breather hose on the gas tank decided to vannish, had a quick check under the bonnet and was nothing so figured the gas smell was from carrying a mower in the boot not long before. After a fumey drive to helensville I popped the boot to find a shit load of fuel. Was an easy fix though.

Had it all ready for the old school meet but a hang over got the better of me so never made it. Might have to head down to the next burgerfuel meet up as am moving to kingsland 1st of feb so it wont be such a cunty drive from south head.

Next plan is to pass this saturdays wof, flew through the last two so am hopeful.

Anyway heres a couple of pictures, nothing too special.

  13. yup yup. do NOT byo. for the sake of the event's reputation!!

zep- yes that was the gist of it. but there are other options for those not wanting booze

alright i certainly can live with that (have to drive)

lucky i took prince out to make sure it still goes, went to helensville, could smell the sweet smell of petrol the whole way and thought it was from carrying a mower a while ago. popped boot, full of fuel. yay...

lucky was just the top breather hose on tank somehow got shorter??? anyway, empty codys can and insulation tape and shes as good as new :king:
