  5. Hey guys,

Mk2 Ford Escort, when i turn the car OFF the red alternator light turns on and stays on.

alternator seems to be working fine and it has new battery.

If i leave it for more than a couple of days it drains the battery.

Goes away when turn car on.

Any Ideas why its started doing this?

  6. Hey bud,

Ive just recently put a 205 injected pinto in one of my mk2 4-doors with my holi pay,

was going to originally going to go zetec but just purely keeping it oldschool made me OHC it.

Removed efi got weber sidedraught set up off GAZ on here for it, cam from franklins cams.

Motor freshend up withnew bearings/rings etc. extractors 5spd etc etc.

fantastic. respectable upgrade from the kents and didnt break the bank also fairly easy done

    My life story anyway.

  7. Hey welcome ryder,

    Thats a sweeet MK2 mate,

Nothing wrong at all with a 4Door square light.

Looks damn tidy, especially in the engine bay and chrome

    I have a 4door escorto as a daily, 1.3L dump spec.

go to town like JWG said if ya want mate.

Ive just kept my bitch lubed, wof/reg and put a slightly bigger carb on and extracs and thats it.

you'll soon realize they are damn cheap runners and reliable, so perfect for saving the coin for the "project" or what ever.

Good feeling driving a NZ assembled car day to day.

  8. Been checking out the the old GTS/R jap skylines in Group A racing.

Though this would be worth a look.

Rules meant they had to "use" the MAF sensor so they just left it connected with a vac pipe bolted it up there and used MAP by the looks haha.

This is always worth a repost. the way he pushes on in the 2nd lap is just straight out brave IMO.

  9. Had same thing in same place in my Mk2 Escort about a year ago.

I tried to find another guard and mine didnt look as bad as your damage,

Judging by the photos id say it would be a good idea for you too.

it would have to be removed anyway to be repaired and they almost never look "quite right" when rebeatin.

i removed guard and it was reasonably simple. Drilled holes thru the spot welds there was about 7, then chiseled the weld/slag free and removed.

I had more of a time getting the damn dome top bolts off to remove the full chrome bumper than the guard haha .

Brought new gaurd for i think $100 and $45 for it to be welded on straight by raycoft down here.

Had colour match for bout $75 i think mate from friendly panel beater .

    + pinstripe .

  10. In Bromley on maces just down from wreckers is Discount tyres.

Old dude with suit and tie under his overalls is a top-man for doing tyre fitting.

He'll do for $10 each, just might have to help jack it up etc.

Will only charge $5 if you can use the tyre changer.

Usually open late also as it appears he runs some sort of half taxi operation on the side. :)
