  1. yeah, but I have no thermostat lol.. Took it out ages ago cos it opened at like 105degrees
  2. Yeah I was thinking of that but i really need to make a linkage thing so that they are both choked the exact same amount at all times, otherwise the mixture will be fucked
  3. Might take the choke cable out of the aunty's Daihatsu Charade il try run the two cables together off the one lever, that'd be the best way to do it for now..
  4. Haha, I had thought of that aswell.. But I dont think it'd work that well because of the difference in the cables. I know how they actuate, but the problem is, they arent like most twins, where everything is linked, only the throttle is linked. The choke mechanism is on the same side for both carbs (left if looking at the inlet), and there is nothing going through the body to create a linkage. Some sort of mechanism would have to go either underneath the body of the carb, or over the top. So I'm struggling a bit at the minute
  5. Yeah, that was my orignal thought but I can't figure out quite how...
  6. Yep, but not very good pics Any help?
  7. Got twin stombergs on the hunter, and can't find a twin choke cable anywhere, and the bike shops near where I live reckon they can't make anything up or alter something I already have. Rang a few brake and clutch places near where I live, and they suggested to make some sort of mechanism or ask a bike shop. So back to square one.. Any ideas??
  8. Dont wanna hit bump stops all the time so I gotta do it good
  9. Back to square one with no clue exactly how to go about lowering. My best idea at the minute is getting my standard springs stiffened and lowered, and shortening the shock to avoid bump stop, and shortening the shocks (or new short ones) Anybody have spare Hunter struts?
  10. I decided to leave the switch panel in petrol for an hour and strip the paint off it so it was nice and shiny again.. But then I needed something to cover up the gaps nicely, so I got some of that stick on carbon fibre stuff of TradeMe.. And that looks alright, thought it would look out of place, but it goes better than it did before Just need to fix the switch now..
  11. You wont be able to have a shock much longer than a spring and have it still captive.. 30 or so mm
  12. The tach turned up today So i decided to get out the soldering iron and go hard So now most of the wires under the dash that had problems with lighting etc, i think iv sorted out, just need to figure out that weird dip light situation Had to do a bit of customising to make the gauge be able to actually face the driver as opposed to how it came, (could only tilt back about 10 degrees) But now the inside of the car is back to being a complete mess with wires and shit eveywhere Need to source that piece from the switch still
  13. going to be costly though.. have to get the leafs reset and new centre bolts with an extra leaf added.. then 2" blocks aswell.
  14. Im looking at getting some springs made, low but high spring rate, and then going to a good shock shop, and getting them to find me an insert thats already short enough
  15. Yeah but if you are going lower, a lot of the time u need custom springs cause u have to have them stiffer than factory to prevent bottoming out
  16. Lol, nah, i only have bridgestones... Cheviot 13s.. But i want gloss black widened steelies and put on the chrome ring.. thatd be nice
  17. Ahk, cause i have some modgies atm, they only have 185 wide tires on them and im already gonna need to roll the guards to lower it, but i want some widened steelies
  18. when getting steelies widened, does it add all the width to the outer or inner face? or share it evenly?
  19. Not to mention rather expensive
  20. Hahaha, 60s at the minimum
  21. the will obviously have more thickness to the tyre wall.....
  22. Call Chris at 'Suspention tech' 0272145325 He is the best shock guy in town and will help you get the setup you need tho he would wantyou to go for bilstens as they the best. Sweet, does he do leaf springs aswell? or coils?
  23. he doesnt wanna have to buy new tyres when he just bought brand new ones.. his cars like, all sanded and shit now no engine lol so hes got time i guess.. he could sell the tires he has now and that will probably nearly cover the cost of new ones or 3/4 of it any way
  24. Oh i was meaning anhonyb haha.. hes a silly sausage
