Pretty sure it's the balancing that bumps the price up. Frinstance, I had a shaft shortened and balanced for $301 a while back but have been told $80-$100 for shortening only.
If you pull a shaft apart and reweld it in exactly the same orientation, it often doesn't need rebalancing. IMO etc...

BM motor's a biggun though, hell even the Cleveland is probably smaller.

No idea to be honest, there are so many I loose count.
There'd be an E30 trainspotter somewhere who'd be able to tell ya though.

Also, also, no sunroof!

These things still handle well with a light (ally block) six in 'em.
It's the rear you gotta watch out for ha.
Looks like a good base though, and early girl so bonus there also.

So, I may, or may not, have driven this thing from Hville to Silverdale the other day. And it may, or may not, be something of a hoot to drive.
Noisy (no sound deadning), smelly, bumpy (she must be pretty light, it's been some work getting the height down) and a bit twitchy (needs a wheel alignment).
All systems work! Plenty more fettling to do but these things are never really finished I guess.

this shit makes me mad.
way way over the top punishment for something they cant even prove you did.
ive come across many younger dudes who have had this happen.
and they wonder why people do a runner from police. i know a guy who did, crashed and got caught and it only cost him another month (7month loss of license) over what it would have been for just stopping and getting done for excessive acceleration, some people would take those chances.
another guy ive talked to about it took it to court, spent $$ on a lawyer and got off it, and the cop that charged him with it got demoted. i think they pick on younger people cause they know they dont have the $ for a lawyer. another one ive spoken to actually got told by a lawyer to just plead guilty cause it was less hassle.
We called this didn't we?
Welcome to the new New Zealand.
Guilty until proven innocent.
Shits me to tears this bullshit.

Care to elaborate? Are you saying this is a myth, or a fact, or what?
Oh alright then.
The myth is that chassis dynos can tell you how many powers you have. They cant, there are far too many variables.
They're a tuning tool and nothing more.
-
Chassis dynos are not accurate.

A roll centre isn't the invisible bearing your car rotates around.

Heh. I used to have a 308 HZ ute RTS thingy. It was surprising good thing. One of those cars you wish you never sold but, like any good Aussie, it sure enjoyed a drink.
Good luck!

Some decent pics a mate took at a recent beer session
Otherwise nothing to update, which is a shame. So close yet so far.

Project thread > http://oldschool.co....rvette-stingray
Nice, looks tidy!
Anymore plans?
Is this is, who I think it is by the way? If so, it's a bit different from your crx!
Sic's in Melbourne last I heard. Also, WTF North Shore?
Anyway, Sweeeet Vette. Best model IMO.

Not the sort of thing I'd wanna take the lowest bid on to be honest.

Body colour looks swell on those bumpers. Are you going to put some kind of splitter/diffuser under the tank at the rear? I would, it would eliminate that slightly hollow look it has.
Yeah, something missing from the rear. Not sure what it is yet, will ponder it further.
The big things it needs to drive are cooling system, suspension, tyres and other smaller things. Getting close but still not likely till Nov-Dec.

Was a bit bummed with it.
Anyway, was a nice day today, so thought I'd wash some of the pine pollen off that gathers this time of year. Cursed stuff. Dropped it on its wheels, towed it outside, washed it. Feel betterer.
Aaaannd threw a battery in it to test some stuff. Decided to check out the fuel pump to see if I could find a reason why it wasn't triggering and no earth! Fixed that. Springs into life. Fuck it. Plug the missing coolant sensor in, throw some gas in it. Fuel pump works, builds pressure and stops just like it's supposed to. Flick key to start. Raaaaaa.
Fucking stoked. Idles smooth, revs nicely, sounds crisp (through no exhaust ha). Win.

They looked shit in chrome, cut the front and back of the car in half.

Why not?
Farked if I know really.

Now take 'em to the platers and see how hard he laughs at them.

There're plenty of guys in the BMW race series running the rear coilover like that, no problems heard of. The same basic shock mount on E30/36/46 etc.
