  1. Going to talk to a guy about power steering for the old girl as I dont need my forearms bigger than what they currently are. Also have to change out the trans and diff oil this weekend and adjust the rear brakes. Does anyone know who can help out with changing my car to electronic ignition? PM me if you know of a place that will do a good job and knows what they are doijng or there maybe someone on here looking to do a cash job.
  2. Hey Stuart sorry you got your nose so out of joint over my comments but if you were in my position you would have probably been a bit pissed off if you asked for a specific colour and then got something different. As for the paint job you did a good job but just not titanium which is what I was after. As stated blame lies on both parties and I am not going to go into a long winded back and forth session on what each did wrong so I think we should just get over it as I know I have. Anyway moving on......... New parts have been ordered through Ewan in Japan so I should have some extra goodies to get the car back to where it was before that dickhead who pranged into me. Yes you would have seen the car in Te Kuiti where my folks stopped for a bite to eat.
  3. The Gloria is back home and looking good. I will post some pics up later.
  4. Good news the car is off to the painters next week and the ol girl will be coming back to Auckland on the 16th of March. Long overdue and I cant wait to see the paint (in its correct colour this time) as in the sample it looked amazing but on a whole car hopefully it looks awesome.
  5. Hopefully that wasnt your finger that you pick your nose with.
  6. Wow its been a while since I have posted anything about the Celica but I finally got my front shocks back after getting some money to pay the guy who built them. So the bag is a triple convoluted set up which means I have more travel than a normal bag and these will outlast anything on the market. The outer housing is all machined from billet, might have cost a little more but well worth it.
  7. Looking good dude I would be keen to see how you tackle the rear end, if its anything like what I had to try and figure out for my Celica then best of luck.
  8. Yes this one would be good for a engine conversion i just dont like the rear end on the PA30 it just doesnt do it for me. LOL
  9. Yes I would very much doubt you would find another HA30 in NZ as all of the Glorias I have seen or heard about that are in NZ are PA30's as that is all they imported at that time and were personal imports in very few numbers. So hopefully I have another one off car in NZ like the RA25 GT celica I have sitting in my dads workshop.
  10. Yeah I would but that one is a PA30 mines an HA30 to different models. But thanks for the thought, oh and Sheeper beat you on that suggestion already.
  11. Yes the insurance company tried to dick me out of some money but I sorted it in the end. I am just so glad to finally get some work to the ol girl and get it a step closer to being back on the road. Version 2 is going to look way better I cant wait to see the new paint that's going to replace what is currently on there.
  12. Dunno when she will be on the road but should be about a couple of months as she is getting repainted and some other stuff done. But I miss her soooo much
  13. You obviously have missed it, yes it had been rear ended and i have been battling with the insurance co for over 4 months to get shit sorted.
  14. So the old girl has been on the chassis machine and is all nice and straight now. The kink has now gone out of the rear quarter and the gaps in the doors are back to where they were and the door all open. The rear is all unstitched and you will see the boot is pretty munted but may have to be repaired if I cant find another boot out of Japan. Now the rear bit needs a bit of straightening as well.
  15. make sure you check out your airbags as the stuff out of the states isnt compliant with NZ standards. It is mainly to do with the drop and drive function, in the states they can drive with it at full drop but NZ standards state that they system needs to have the ability to inflate after a certain speed, cant remember the speed though.
  16. I dont think you have enough cars, I suggest you go buy another two just to be on the safe side.
  17. Was this the look you are going for Richy???
  18. Yes I already got that as they called it the L20 and then the L20A later in 1969 so not to get confused with the 4 cylinder L20B.
  19. Yeah Im pretty sure mine is an L20A so yay thanks for the help guys I will now try and track a dizzy down.
  20. Yeah but will it fit an L20 engine???
  21. I need some help in trying to find a electronic ignition kit for my L20 engine does anyone know of someone who has done this before or may know of someone who is a bit of an expert with the L20 engines? I have looked at hotspark but it doesnt really give too much information.
  22. The award was well deserved Sheepers and its good to see you still improving on the beast. Makes me want to get my shit together and do some more work on mine.
